Just general chat..... Preferences Cz P07 vs Sig P229?
CZ’s are quality firearms, so can’t knock them. But I do use my Sig 229 as carry gun.
I do have a CZ P10c that I really like a lot as well, but just haven’t put enough rounds down range for me to feel good about carrying it. I did add an aftermarket trigger, and also have an optic for it. It’s my first pistol with an optic.
Sorta like 1911s, huh. 8~)
I bought a couple of those back when they were $190 a copy. Got them off the C&R list so they shipped right to my home.
Great little guns.

Our 4” 629 is favorite of Mrs. L. I load her a 210 grain JHP at about 1,200 fps. Very controllable but plenty of power.

If Glocks were so perfect there wouldn’t be this huge selection of aftermarket parts. Damn new phone keyboard.
I have generally not liked the classic SIGs I have fired. I don’t like the high bore axis. They remind me of 3rd gen Smith and Wesson automatics.
The only CZ pistols I have are Cold War era, so they don’t apply here.
The only way to tell for yourself is to go shoot both at a rental range. If you can’t find rental copies, then at least hold them at the gun store. Ask permission to dry fire once or twice. Guns are always a personal decision.
Neither is striker fired.
Glock fans are more annoying than HK fans.
Criteria for a fighting handgun:
1.Does it go bang each and every time you want it to?
2.It doesn’t it require certain proprietary manipulations to operate.
3.It uses readily available combat caliber ammunition.
4.It is both strong and weak hand friendly.
And finally,
5. Can its operator hit a desert sized target at 20 yards from the holster quickly and repeatedly with it.
All else is fashion and fluff.
How so?
I have an HK45. A thing of beauty.
My list is shorter now thankfully. I still want an HK45, a nice Browning Hi Power, a really old 1911 (Ive got a series 70 Govt model now), a Walther PP, and a Sig Mk25.
I’m generally very partial to HK and FN products, so everything I buy ends up costing a fortune. But I’ve always told my wife, I don’t want anything in the house that I’m not 100% certain will work every single time. I didn’t arm up just to roll the dice at the pull of the trigger.
Nice. I use one of the 230 gr Speer “flying ashtray” projectiles sitting on top of I forget how many grains of 2400. I figure if I miss, the flash alone will give em a heart attack.
I may be showing my ignorance here but what is a “desert sized” target?
Desert”plate” oops.
I know some field grade officers who couldn’t even hit the ....desert.
Errrgghh!
Auto spell has got to go!
DESSERT PLATE!
People ask me wtf I have a Mark 23. The answer is simple: when you run out of ammo, you can use it as a club, or for peaceful purposes, such as a hammer around the house.
You are correct of course, I saw the plastic frame and assumed so. I don’t keep up on plastic guns as much as I should.
