NEW YORK CITY, NY – A Queens woman is facing a 25-year prison sentence and felony weapons charges after police raided her home and seized a “stockpile of weapons,” which were later found to be toys and production props. One year later, Elizaveta Zlatkis is still fighting to have the charges dismissed.
NYC gun laws do not allow possession of functional weapons without a permit and a police license for each individual one.
That they were being used for entertainment does not change the law.
I read some details of the guns involved.
Only one of the guns involved was a real gun.
It was non-functional, missing parts.
It may have been illegal under New York law, as it might have been possible to make if functional with the correct parts, such as hammer, trigger, cylinder, etc.
How are there any charges here? I was recently on a jury for a murder trial in which the victim had been shot to death. A weapons expert testified about the weapons involved and how they had been used. Doesn’t NYC have any weapons experts to identify these “guns” as fake? If the NYPD is concerned about having egg on their faces, they certainly will if this goes to trial.
She should have stuffed orange foam ear plugs in the barrels of each gun. They sell them on ebay for that exact purpose.
But heaven help her if even one of those ear plugs just happened to pop out while the gestapo was scrutinizing them.
They could have easily ignored it and not posted it on social media.

That’s exactly way she was arrested- original articles mentioned this- NY gun laws suck-
"I hate cops. They’re all corrupt. Never trust a cop.”
Nashville bomber Warner would have fit right in with the cop haters at Free Republic.
Nashville RV bomber Anthony Quinn Warner was a cop-hating ‘hippie’: ex-colleague
Fixed it for you. Restricting American's rights under the Second Amendment has nothing to do with police work, it is an exercise in tyranny.
The 'LEO Lickers' have been getting quieter lately out of embarrassment. I suspect watching the 'Thin Blue Line' of well paid government enforcers letting Antifa riot, loot, and murder and then exerting massive force against patriot protests and lockdown protests has made their silly man-crush hard to justify.
You appear to be like a moderate Muslim that cannot call out a terrorist.
I for one support the police, but not criminal actions. Have a problem with that?
And yet Cuomo who is responsible for the deaths of thousands of nursing home patients gets off without an indictment.
Yeah...you CAN blame them and mock them mercilessly: they were TOYS.
Why are there even charges?
This is stupid and everyone involved in making this not go away should be fired.
“Yeah...you CAN blame them and mock them mercilessly: they were TOYS.”
I don’t trust our media to the level needed to blame the cops over this. I’d like to hear their side.
Rule 1: keep your mouth shut when encountering one of those people...
Half the people in this country have no integrity. They believe it's okay to cheat if it results in the outcome they want. Our republic cannot survive if the majority of the population have no integrity.
Good point bob.
She rents them out to Ghetto lowlife nobody rappers?
yeaa..
....and then they return them.
ok....
Still...if they are plastic guns then...they are NOT guns.
Unless there is a vague law that states a gun doesn’t have to be a gun to be a gun.
Yea me new Christmas present beer of the month club just arrived 2 hours ago..
pretty good i must say.
:)
You appear to be a moron to make a statement like that.
"I for one support the police, but not criminal actions. Have a problem with that?"
I also support the police, but not criminal actions. Back to you zek.
