This month's full moon occurs on Tuesday, Dec. 29 at 10:28 p.m. EDT (3:28 UTC, Dec. 30), but the moon will appear full the night before and after its peak to the casual stargazer. This December's full moon is known as the Cold Moon, though it has many other nicknames by different cultures.

It’s very cold in northern Virginia so when I went outside to see the Moon, I soon had my own Cold Moon.

I live in NJ. I was at work earlier last evening and saw it coming up just before dark. Man, it was beautiful.
