This month's full moon occurs on Tuesday, Dec. 29 at 10:28 p.m. EDT (3:28 UTC, Dec. 30), but the moon will appear full the night before and after its peak to the casual stargazer. This December's full moon is known as the Cold Moon, though it has many other nicknames by different cultures.

Early Texas, every Full Moon was a Comanche Moon.
Saw it earlier while bringing in the mail. BRIGHT!
It’s very cold in northern Virginia so when I went outside to see the Moon, I soon had my own Cold Moon.
