The owner of Bread & Barley in Covina, California decided enough was enough when a public health Nazi ordered his restaurant to shut down.
So Carlos Roman parked his truck behind the vehicle belonging to the public health inspector.
“He wants to come in here and say nobody can work—well, then he can’t work either!” Roman told a police officer who responded to the scene. “If we can’t work, he can’t work.”

In that first photo, it looks as though there’s plenty of room for the health inspector to get out. I’ve had people park closer than that, and I didn’t feel the need to call the cops.
Damn you’re resourceful. I have much to learn from you. :-)
Agreed!
Someone started a gofundme for the guy.

Cool, thanks for the info! They’re already $1K over the $10K goal, so there must be a LOT of people out there who have had enough of the dictatorial equine effluvia.
I only have one duplex so no so bad but I’m thinking of just flipping due to militantly pro tenant laws popping up like crazy
family had a few properties around colleges..did well for a while, mid 80s, sold it..became too much to deal with..
The real problem is that the cops and the inspector walked out of there with all their teeth.
Divide and conquer is the whole strategy.
What we need is massive civil disobedience that is organized.
That is what made Lech Walesa in Poland so effective.
Need to send out a message blast for a trial movement for something insignificant to see how many will pay attention and participate then escalate the actions. Start with something simple like leaving strategic lights in businesses on over night. The sheeple need to know they are not alone before they expand the defiance.
As long as he can walk away, it is not unlawful restraint.
Regardless of the clarity of any law, I pledge to be a standing “not guilty” in any case where I serve as juror, for any business owner fined or charged under these circumstances.
And, taxpayer funded pensions to look forward to.
And putting money and power in big business’ hands.
Yup.
I am seething enraged after watching that video. The power-mad health inspector was shutting down the takeout only service (no indoor or outdoor dining in LA County) because someone sat on a city-owned bench in front of his restaurant. Enter fat-assed, fat-mouthed, greasy-haired HO dressed up as ‘cop’ with all the stupidity and belligerence of an AOC clone against the taxpayer, business owner citizen. The motto of Covina PD is “Relentless Pursuit of Crime” and Chief John Curley YOU should be ashamed of your officers and yourself. How about no paycheck for princess big mouth for 9 months?
