Billie Jean king in her prime took three sets to bear and old male tennis player who was never top tier in his prime I think it was Chris Evert who, commenting on the Bobby Riggs debacle, related a story that in her prime she used to practice against a male player who was ranked about #100 in the world. He beat her 6-0 every single set.

Billie Jean king in her prime took three sets to bear and old male tennis player who was never top tier in his prime I agree with the basic point you are trying to make, but: (1) it was a best of 5 match. She beat him in straight sets. (2) Riggs was number 1 in the world in his prime.

...And who probably threw the match so as to get more money in a rematch which she would never give him.
