I’ve been following x22 and still hold out some hope. I studied in Italy years ago. If I were single I’d be thinking a yurt in the wilderness but I’ve got a wife and seven children whose freedom and future I’m fighting for.
I love DJT and won’t give up.
This is pure bullshit.
VP Pence presides over the Senate proceedings, but clearly that doesn’t mean he gets to decide the election by himself!
The only people who can “stop the steal” are the state legislatures in the contested states. If a majority of them believe the election results do not reflect the true winner, they must decertify the Biden/Harris electors for their respective states - and they have the sole authority to do this.
Not the AG.
Not the Governor.
Not the Vice President.
Not the Supreme Court.
The state legislatures can do this in one of two ways:
1) Decertify the Biden electors for their respective states and send no electors to the US Senate by January 6th. If doing so results in neither candidate having the required 270, the decision goes to the US House of Representatives, where Republicans control a majority of state delegations.
2) Decertify the Biden electors and certify the alternate slate of Trump electors for their respective states by January 5th, giving President Trump the required 270. In this case, VP Pence can have the honor of reading the results and announcing President Trump as the winner.
I believe the only way the Supreme Court will get involved will be to resolve a Constitutional dispute. For example, let’s say the state Legislature of PA votes to decertify the Biden electors and certify the state’s Trump electors instead.
But let’s say the Governor, the AG, and the Democrat minority in PA joined together and refuse to accept the decertification of Biden electors and the certification of the Trump electors.
I believe this is where the SCOTUS would have to rule on the Constitutionality of the certification - and they would have to decide in favor of the state Legislature. President Trump wins.
It is entirely up to the state legislatures in the contested states of PA(20), MI(16), GA(16), AZ(11) and WI(10). Biden has claimed 306 electors - 36 more than needed to win - but 73 are contested.
Any three of these five states will do the trick.
“I love DJT and won’t give up.”
*fist bump*
It does give me a chance to buy some more VXX before it happens.
I am undecided whether VP has the responsibility/authority. It is a legislative effort to make the 12th Amendment clear, and add a few more steps. Both seem to be gobbledygook, and incomplete. Especially the statutes which assume intent of the Amenders in 1804. As for SCOTUS deciding, I saw that posited. On the serious side, I wonder who would have standing to file with SCOTUS. Most SOSs are Republican. The states legislatures are all Republican. It would seem to me that any Democrat would not have standing as a party or individual. As I told my younger brother a few weeks ago, the death knell in the election will not be delivered by SCOTUS, but by RINOs. The Senate Majority Leader is already discouraging other colleagues from protesting.
We will know in two weeks how it will play out. Maybe.

P.S. I hope you have a Merry Christmas.

Pretty sure any progressive who feels aggrieved has automatic standing in any court.

Thank you for your reply. Sometimes I wish I didn’t detest government as much as I do, maybe then I’d have some hope that our political hires would perform with a modicum of integrity & honesty. The level of corruption is so deep (and a Yuge! thanks to DJT for exposing it) I don’t see any light, and I’m ok with that. Like a drunk needing to hit rock bottom before there’s any hope for sobriety, so to is it with USA, Inc. We have to crash before we can restore. Maybe a miracle will happen and white hats will save our bacon, but should that not happen I think you’ll be ok. Your prior cynicism will help for sure, because for every Plan there is a Plan B. At any rate have a very, merry Christmas and may the new year find US in a better place.
If Pence does not stand with Trump, his political career is done. Over. Finished.
Surely the Vice President understands this much.
Pence could be put in a spot where his true colors show.
I’m not saying he’s necessarily a bad guy, but he’s not the man for the job in 2024, and we need another Trump in 2024. I think we’ll need Trump himself.
