Thanks for posting ` a definite relief from the COVID and election stories. I have a stray beagle that’s been with us for 13 years. They were going to put him down last year at this time, but I told the vet I wasn’t ready to say goodbye. The Good Lord got him going again (his medicine, except for the water pill, fell into the sink and I didn’t refill). . . . He’s doing better than a even a few years ago. . .going outside digging, sniffing, & always looking for food and his bark is even more pronounced.

Grew up with a boxer and she was very kid protective.
When kid’s parents came to collect them from our backyard, our pup would NOT allow them into our yard.
Once after my dad spanked me, she bit his butt and my dad thought that was great!!!

It has been too long since I battled with a puppy. With the last one, I responded to one of his assaults by putting my hand under his body and flipping him on his back onto a pillow. He was obviously shocked for a couple of seconds, then I ticked his stomach. He flipped himself upright and immediately came after me. His message was clear: DO IT AGAIN! So I did. And again, and again.
He was a great dog from day one. I miss him.
