I agree with you that they will feel the pinch when the advertisers start dropping them, however, as a former cable television operator I was in the industry when Fox launched back in I believe 1995. At that time Fox paid cable and satellite operators $10.00 per sub to launch their service on their platforms. That amounted to a lot of money and paid for the Fox service for 10 years. After the 10 years they started charging very high fees and operators paid it because it was so popular with a very large audience. They now charge in excess of $1.50 per month per sub for carriage so even with lower ad rates they still reap trmendous amounts of money each month. They can go to hell from my point of view and so can Dish, DirecTV and Comcast for carrying FOX.
