The COVID-19 pandemic has been tough on Asian restaurants. This holiday season, why not adopt a Jewish tradition by eating Chinese food?
Here’s a very modest proposal for the holidays: On Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, don’t toil over the stove and prepare your usual massive feast for the family. Instead, use the pandemic as an excuse to take a page from Jewish Americans and order some damn good Chinese takeout.
Your local mom-and-pop purveyor of kung pao chicken and sticky rice could probably use the business: Though all restaurants across the U.S. have suffered due to coronavirus shutdowns and restrictions, Chinese restaurants have been hit particularly hard.
According to Womply, a data subscription service, Asian American restaurants have closed at a far higher rate than non-Asian restaurants. And compared with other Asian restaurants, Chinese eateries had the highest rates of closure at 61%.
Some have suggested the dip in business is at least partially due to consumer prejudice toward Asians and Asian Americans in the wake of coronavirus.

Jewish Christmas is a joke.
It is referring to the fact that December 25th is a day off for Jews and not much is open in the city except Chinese and art house movie theaters.
So a movie and Chinese food were the fallback for members of the tribe.

Please pay no attention to the fascist Dem governors forcing the closure of all restaurants, except of course for the Party Approved ones like French Laundry.
If Brittany was really woke, she would celebrate Christmas at the local gay vegan place and order baba ghanoush as a tribute to gay vegan muslims!
So you are so fond of imagining that the cheapest people on earth actually spend money on real chicken & beef? Or real codfish?
It’s tradition. It was explained in Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ’s Childhood Pal, after they found the first wise man:
“we were celebrating the passage of Joshua’s seventeenth birthday in the fortress.Balthazar had the girls prepare a feast of Chinese delicacies and we drank wine late into the night.(And long after that, and even when we had returned to Israel, we always ate Chinese food on Joshua’s birthday.I’m told it became tradition not only with those of us who knew Joshua, but with Jews everywhere.)”
If I order the bat soup will I still be hungry an hour later?
Explicit lyric warning at the link.
Vapid.
And curse Christ as a fraud while chowing down on Kung Flu chicken, right?
Liberals are total idiots and if they think crap articles like this are going to counter balance the hatred of Jews and Black folks inherent to the democrat elite they’re not just idiots but drooling idiots.
only eat the shrimp - just food dye, bottom paint, and antibiotics like farmed salmon
Well, the first Christmas certainly was Jewish!
Tiz the season to be jar ree, fah rah rah rah rah rah rah rah rah.
True enough.
She’s a nut.
You might - if you live that long.
My point....badly made,perhaps...is that Christians have no more desire to partake in a Jewish Christmas dinner than Jews would have to partake in a Christian Easter dinner...or Passover dinner.
..................
Silly article, there is no Jewish Christmas and for Christians for whom Christmas is important, were it me I'd go on as always as best as I can. I probably missed it, but did the Huffington Post run an order pizza for Passover article? Then there's the we all hate the Chinese thing, as evidenced by restaurant clotures. more bizarre thread pushing the same theory. Though with a strong BLM viewpoint. That more radical article touting a 26% closing rate for Asian restaurants vs 22% otherwise. Of course in December they were using April numbers, guess they fit. This article says 61%, using March numbers. Clearly both are cherrypicking statistics, and the only ones to fit their worldview are 8 to 9 months old. This could mean Asian restaurants are doing really well since March/April when the closings began. Or not. Were I a dem I'd have to advocate boycotting Asian restaurants, but I won't because these articles have no apparent factual basis, and if I want to order in on Christmas, I'll probably be limited to Chinese or pizza. I'll probably cook.
Remember, in the US blacks have a higher percentage of Christians than whites, and they celebrate Christmas too. If you want to see a more offensive take on the same topic, see the link in post 59 on the protest chef.
