West Michigan, cold but still no snow except a couple of dustings. Just being hopeful about the garlic now. And doing alfalfa sprouts for greens. Wishing all the best for the holidays to all my gardening friends.
No garden work going on - everything is pretty much ‘set’ for the winter. I’m going through my pictures of the flowers blooming this past summer/fall to give myself a “lift”.
One thing I noticed yesterday ... one of our 3 forsythia bushes has a few blooms on it. It’s been COLD here, so it’s not like a warmup tricked it into blooming. It’s a very confused bush!
Today is my dad’s 98th birthday so I’m making him a pumpkin pie, which was his dessert request. He also wants a rib eye steak and a glass of sweet wine for dinner. Lots of football/basketball on today to keep him occupied - I got him a new box of popcorn to go with the games, plus some “gourmet” eggnog. Hopefully, he’ll have a good day.
I’m still shelling and sorting beans. Hoping to start listing squash seeds for sale soon. And taking my time with the seed catalogs, deciding what to order this year.
I think it’s going to be another rough year. I’m working on my equipment designs so the work will, hopefully, be easier. We’ll see.
I made it! Last Monday, I finally cleared all of our stuff from the RV site! Thursday, a Nor-Easter blew through, dumping about 10” on the park, but we are free and clear!
Of course, the time spent clearing the site since Thanksgiving distracted me from get the snow thrower hooked up and it was the Armstrong Method for me. Fortunately, dry and fluffy!
Merry Christmas, All!
Merry Christmas all - hopefully our Gardening next Season brings a bounty...
I have one gardening wish - please let me grow sweetcorn next year!!
