Some time I will research the science behind this but I am about to give my theory on immunity and viruses.
Premise 1: God gave us an immune system and the means to naturally improve and take care of that immune system.
Premise 2: Panicky people, especially Dems, always care more about the a “known” victim than an “unknown” victim. For example, if there was a social program that gave free food to people then the removal of this program would generate a known “victim” who wouldn’t have free food. But nobody mentions the unknown victim who is the person who didn’t get a job because a business wasn’t formed because taxes were too high because of dumb social programs.
So related to premise 2, we have a known virus - the Coronavirus. Perhaps the best way to protect against the known virus is masks, isolation and vaccination. But what is the cost? The isolation and masks short circuits and disrupts our God-given immune system as we don’t get trace exposures to other viruses that would give us immunity to those. And the increasing use of vaccines has been linked to greater incidence of autoimmune diseases. So we have a case of efforts to stop having Coronavirus “victims” leads to more victims of other unknown ailments due to immune system disruption.

Remember back in June when is was “Just 2 more weeks” and these threads were filled with people calling those that said this was all overblown names? Remember how these threads would be hundreds of posts long, filled with medical experts telling everyone how mask mandates and mask mandates and lockdowns were the answer? Or how they accused people of wanting to killing their grandmas, if they didn’t do what the “experts” said? This thread has been up for an hour and a half, and there are only 9 posts, prior to this one. Where are they now?

Fake news. There was a proposal before the AMA to make that admission. That proposal was not adopted.

I was inspired to e-mail the following in response:

I have followed -- well, to a point I have followed -- the advice of the governor, the oh-so-many unelected California bureaucrats and, of course, The "Experts" over the past nine months. As you must surely know, nearly everything these people have said, recommended and commanded regarding the Communist Chinese virus -- forced masking; mandated "distancing"; compelled isolation; destruction of businesses -- has failed in every respect. It has not worked and yet the weekly diktats continue with increasing fervor, demanding we continue to do the same failed things over and over and over again until ... well ... we don't know "until" as the criteria for success keeps changing. Perhaps the recent arrival of an effective vaccine will change that ... at least one should hope it would.
Therefore, regarding the latest in the obvious never-ending progression of mandates described in your recent update my answer is "No". No longer. I will -- to the best of my ability as a reasonable, intelligent and compassionate American citizen -- no longer abide these commands although when I enter a private business -- the few that our governor has not self-determined to be "non-essential" and which, with his self-anointed vast new power as a politician, he "allows" to remain open -- I will wear my muzzle out of respect for the business owner, not because, as reality clearly shows, it does anything at all to "control the spread of the virus".
Please understand that I am not a wild-eyed anti-government zealot; rather, I am in my 54th year as an accomplished and respected environmental health and safety professional in heavy industry and big agriculture. I have vast experience with personal protective equipment and what it can do and, even more important, what are its limitations. For example, it is not simply the physical impossibility of a simple mask to stop a virus particle, it is the completely improper way nearly everyone selects, applies and seals, wears and maintains their mask -- as they have not received formal training in how to do so -- that renders the mask completely ineffective in stopping transmission of a respiratory virus. The "experts" who promote public masking know this ... they simply must know these facts. However, people may choose to dismiss my opinion, but they cannot deny reality: The abject failure of nine-long months of masking to "stop the spread".
Ms. xxxx, I have a life to lead, a job to do and people who depend financially and emotionally on me I and will decide -- for myself in the context of my personal responsibilities and with the knowledge and wisdom I have developed over the past half century of direct experience -- what risks I will take and how best to manage those risks rather than depend on the failed, depressing and clearly harmful demands of politicians and unelected bureaucrats.
