More than snow there. Black ice. Often beneath the snow. Especially on I-80
Driver may think pavement when it actually is black ice.

I know that area well. Worked on a project up there earlier this year. That stretch of I-80 seems dangerous even on an ordinary rainy day.

Drove that exact road for years in the Ghia. Active CB communication a must. 80 is elevated. Black ice.

“We are now naming winter storms. Why?”
Dog whistling for climate change. The greenies are trying to imply that normal winter storms are so dire they need names to increase the hype.

Did you see this? On I-80...

There’s a section along that stretch of highway that is marked as the highest point on I-80 east of the Mississippi River. In some ways it’s worse than driving over the Rocky Mountains because the location south and east of the Great Lakes makes for very frequent precipitation.

No, but it lets The Weather Channel and the local news outlets cover it 24/7 for several days before it hits and several days after.

Gail? Who’s been watching the weather channel?

Heavy Rescue 401. Same thought that I had. They could clean up that mess in a 2 part episode.

You reminded me of I use to walk by the loading dock where I worked. There were tractor trailers there all the time and I was always shocked to how bald the tires were on these trailers. Some flat spotting also. Scary to know these things are right beside you at 65 MPH or more on dry highways.

Dumbass drivers and their false sense of security in their 4WD SUVs...........To say nothing about the truckers who are always pushing the limit. I went out last night in my 4WD SUV to bring my daughter home. I stayed under 20 mph with my hazard lights flashing the whole way. The roads were especially bad. Even on the major road, it wasn't plowed at all.

That photo indicates no or lack of salt. Both Those sides on 80 should have been saturated with salt instead of preoccupation with retirements, masks, mass computer vote duplication

Its (snow) everyday life for us. I guess panic sells. Was never like this, with regards to the news growing up.

I read some areas were getting 4 inches per hour accum.
At that rate it’s tough to keep up.
