I’m surprised ‘Lilies of the Field’ had not previously made the cut.

How is it that Clockwork Orange just got added? Thats the kind of movie they fawn over. Figured it’d have been in ages ago.

Agree about The Blues Brothers.

It was 40 years ago this summer that it was released.

It’s still timeless, still classic.

I don’t know if “Blazing Saddles” is on the registry or not, but in today’s atmosphere of Political Correctness, this film may be “too anti-PC” to be chosen.

After all, it stars a Jewish guy (Wilder) as a gunman; a black man (Clevon Little) as a good sheriff; a bunch of anti-black cowboys; discriminated against but very funny black railroad workers; anti-black townspeople who later become pro-black townspeople; Alex Karras as a slow-witted humongous cowboy philosopher (Mongo only a pawn in the game of life); Mel Brooks as a crooked governor; Harvey Korman as a horny politician; a hangman who likes to hang horses; a “Motley Crew” of criminals, killers, soldiers, who enjoy their work; and a Jewish actress, Madeline Kahn, singing old German songs and serving “snitzel” by the ton to a black man, will all the sexual innuendoes that could be stuffed in that one dinner scene.

Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the play?

Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden said, “With the inclusion of diverse filmmakers, we are not trying to set records but rather to set the record straight by spotlighting the astonishing contributions women and people of color have made to American cinema, despite facing often-overwhelming hurdles.”

Glad to see the word "astonishing" made it in there...

No pukeworthy sentence is possible without it. :-(

#18 and 19 This means no good films in the future will be listed. It is quota based now just like the award shows.
