SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX) — Protesters gathered for a loud and noisy demonstration outside San Francisco mayor London Breed’s home on Sunday.
Demonstrators want the mayor to reopen outdoor dining. They chanted “Open SF now!” “The people need to eat!” and other slogans. Protesters said they’re fighting for the little guys like the cooks who can’t work from home and the low-wage servers who can’t pay their rents.
“The money is not enough. The money is not enough for a family of four — especially in San Francisco — when the rent is too high,” said Adrian Cruz, a restaurant server who has been on unemployment since March. He and many workers worried they’ll be homeless once unemployment runs out.
“Please London Breed, Gov. Newsom, we beg you to open the business,” Cruz pleaded.
LOL(and I’m sorry I LOL’d)
Union square is like a ghetto now.
All boarded up. Most hotels are housing homeless on homeless contracts. No doormen or bars. 85 percent of restaurants closed. The rest are takeout only.
No cable cars running.
No theatre, concerts, entertainment.
A handful of day trippers mostly in awe of how bad things look.
I can’t believe the liberals have done this to themselves. Well of course they have done it to all of us. But SF Bay Area is the most liberal part of the US and it’s bad, dude.
What’s still open?
Takeout. Essential jobs. Medical. MUNI running halfway. Government I guess. Retail that has managed to stay afloat at 20 percent capacity. Grocery and liquor stores and pot clubs. Banks.

I parked at 50 California today
Felt awful for the valets and tipped them $20 bucks
I hope they have some sort of Merry Christmas
You probably had the garage to yourself!
Good on you though.
They parked my car right next to valet station
If this garage is like all the others, vehicles are only taking up the first floor.
Parked at Sutter two weeks ago.
Tons of parking left on second floor, which tells me there were few cars on the upper floors.
