Secession
Sounds good in the exact moment of optimal frustration.
Subsequent to that, it’s a no-win option.
What’s the goal. The goal is to retain some semblance of the
nation we love, but more importantly it has to continue to be
a nation that is viable.
If states secede, they do so without military, nuclear
weapons, or any sector of our nation’s five branches of the
military.
So we go our own way, and the party that is deemed to have
won the election, becomes the default owner of all we left
behind.
Can we defend the free world? No. We would be doing good
to defend ourselves if the federal government we just opted
to disassociate with didn’t agree to let us go.
The United States we left behind, would have half as many
citizens. It would be a nation without a clue how to lead.
It would be a nation filled with seething people dying to
kill everyone who didn’t agree with them.
Everyone with half a clue, would be a part of the new entity,
but what would that be worth in the short or long run?
We would in effect set up our own autonomous zones. Would
they be recognized? Would we have to fight to hold our
ground? Would our military be used against us? Would we
be able to hold out for more than a few months?
While I don’t know the answers to all these questions, they
are still questions we would have to face.
It would not be a bed of roses, or even a bed we could sleep
in when we grow weary.
I don’t see this as a great option.
If this nation crumbles, the Chinese can simply walk in and
take over the place with those who claim to have won this
election tossing down palm fronds to welcome them in.
Why China would be doing a great service to the United States,
that we left behind. Just imagine how the Leftists would be
forever indebted to them.
“It would be a nation filled with seething people dying to
kill everyone who didn’t agree with them.”
It pretty much already is now.
The military is made up of OUR sons and daughters, up to the rank of Major (I’d guess).
Desertions would be massive.
I’m hardly worried about an uncertain remaining force that can’t safely go home at night ... ever again.
Stupidist post ever. You apply static reasoning to a dynamic situation. This is a sign of a very low IQ.
