Zorro may soon look a little different than you remember, if a project in development at NBC comes to fruition.
Sofia Vergara (Modern Family), Robert Rodriguez (From Dusk Till Dawn, Desperado) and Rebecca Rodriguez (Snowpiercer) are on a team putting forth a gender-swapped, modern take on the classic vigilante, our sister site Deadline reports.
Robert and Rebecca Rodriguez, who are siblings, will write the potential series and serve as two of its executive producers alongside Vergara and others. The drama will focus on Sola Dominguez, an underground artist who suits up as the legendary Zorro so she can fight for social justice. Her work puts her in the crosshairs of a bunch of criminal organizations.
Robert Rodriguez’s TV credits include El Rey’s series adaptation of his feature film From Dusk Till Dawn and Netflix’s Spy Kids: Mission Critical, an animated series based on the Spy Kids movies he directed. Rebecca Rodriguez is a writer/director whose directing work includes The Chi, Nancy Drew and Queen of the South.

They already did a homo zorro, so why not a woman one? or a tranny one?
The only problem is “Zorra” (female for fox) also means a prostitute.

The only realistic caped hero was the tv batman. Utterly ridiculous, absurdly written scripts, and designed to not be taken seriously at all.
And whether it’s batman, green hornet, zorro, etc., the fact that their hideouts are SO hard to find (lol), is comical itself.
Wasn’t the all-female “Ghostbusters” remake a big enough disaster?

One of our sons got thrown out a so called English course for strongly making your statement while still in high school about 35+ years ago in class.
Then, he refused to back down. He had tons of documented data to back him up.
We ended up in the vice principal’s office. With our son basically dropping out of school.
As part of the deal, our son would enroll in the GAT evening classes until he passed. He, nailed his final GAT tests and got his diploma via the GAT and was graduated with his class.
30 plus years later, no one has cared, those who hired him or promoted him.

Seems to me there was a stinker of a show sometime back called “Zorrita” that was about a female Zorro.
