Places with highest daily reported cases per capita
Seven-day average of daily new reported cases per 100,000 residents
Correction: Date is for today 12/9/2020
Utterly meaningless and irrelevant without PCR cycle count reporting and a realistic definition of what constitutes a clinically meaningful positive result.
Deaths and hospitalizations are not misleading.
Flu seasons always pressure the hospitals, and just like the death numbers are faked because they are died WITH covid rather than OF, so are the hospitalizations because they are hospitalized WITH covid.
Something can be a lie and yet not be entirely untrue.
And, one, like my humble self, can call it a lie and not minimize the reality.
For example: Calling this past election a fraud does not say the election didn't happen nor that Biden didn't get any votes.
So posting these numbers is fraudulent, unless you have about 10 disclaimers underneath it characterizing it.
COVID or Flu?
Is this the same company that had the election with Joe Biden having a 17% lead on Donald Trump. I don;t believe anything these days. I have seen under reporting, mis reporting and no reporting I know dozens who have had COVID and never tested as they didn;t want to quarantine
Deaths are not meaningless. Nor are the ages of the dead. Deaths at younger ages represent a greater number of lost years and deaths at older ages represent fewer lost years. Still meaningful of course but fewer lost years. Same goes for co-morbidities.
While I agree there is some hype in the mix, I don’t see how the level of hospitalizations is something that can be ignored. Remove deaths from the equation and questions around those definitions. There does seem to be higher than normal pressure on medical facilities and staff.
We are about 1 day into flu season so it seems weird that that is the driver, and it doesn’t seem that recent past flu seasons have pressured facilities and staffing as much as is currently occurring.
Certainly stats can be misleading, but hospitalizations seem like like a fairly verifiable metric.
Not sure what to believe
Australian media is going beserk over US figures. Trump wasting time on election fraud, while no-one is focusing on controlling the pandemic, they claim!
US drops back one place to #12:
Statista: Covid deaths per million worldwide at 9 Dec 2020
#1 Belgium (home of EU) 51.9 deaths per million (last 7 days)
#12 USA 39.02 deaths per million (last 7 days)
https://www.statista.com/statistics/1104709/coronavirus-deaths-worldwide-per-million-inhabitants/
7 of the Top Ten have higher death rates (last 7 days) than USA.
In case that's a rebuttal to my comment, and you weren't just happening to respond to mine (I do that often then the person I posted to thinks I was arguing with them) ... I didn't say 'ignore,' in fact I even said 'relevant' as in 'related to.' ... and added 'but purposefully misleading.'
And SINCE it's misleading, it's dishonest to post it alone, without honest interpretation and disclaimers. It's purposefully insincere and manipulative. (Or deafeningly naive/ignorant, and therefore while perhaps ethically less reprehensible, equally as negative to others in effect.)
But if you weren't rebutting me, then I'm not rebutting you :-)
