I can relate to that. I live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, which means that I am on the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay. Baltimore is about 14 miles away,as the crow flies, on the Western Shore, but by car it takes me about 2 hours 45 minutes to reach Baltimore. (It’s 2 1/2 hours if the husband is driving.)

Some mapping applications have me swimming or boating to Baltimore.

Ahhh I just read Chesapeake by James Michener recently. . . it must be lovely there. Such natural history.
