What Leftists Don't Get about Evil and the Law
American Thinker ^ | 6 Dec, 2020 | Michael V. Wilson

An act is not made wrong just because some (leftist) court says it is.

As the 2020 election recedes in our rearview mirror and the godless media relentlessly push a false narrative that "Biden won," it's instructive to consider just what price America — and you, dear reader — will pay if evil becomes established by law. In most legal theories, there are two kinds of illegal actions: malum in se and malum prohibitum.

Malum in se is a Latin phrase meaning "wrong in itself." It refers to those actions that are self-evidently wrong, that violate the natural moral principles of humanity, irrespective of time, place, culture, or theology. It has its roots in the instinctive human recognition of injustice and the desire to see it rectified.

Robbery, murder, and lying are examples of actions that are malum in se. They were wrong before any human laws were passed. Cain's automatic desire to hide his murder of Abel from God when he was questioned about it demonstrates that he knew that what he'd done was wrong. It was wrong in itself, automatically and beyond any question.

Malum prohibitum is different.

Malum prohibitum is a Latin phrase meaning "wrong due to being prohibited" or "wrong because it is prohibited." A good example of this is a stop sign or stoplight.

The left thinks someone is guilty just because they can get a communist judge or a leftist DC jury to say so.

Malum Prohibitum Churches have been meeting together for prayer and fellowship since before Pentecost. During the early days, when the Roman Empire declared Christianity an outlaw religion, Christians were forced to meet secretly in caves and basements to avoid arrest, imprisonment, and death by torture, crucifixion, or lions. Today, we're seeing a return to that same mentality among the secular left. Governors and mayors around the country have used the excuse of the Wuhan virus to crack down on religious services, particularly of the Jewish and Christian variety (I dare say they're being somewhat more circumspect in their dealings with Muslim gatherings.)

“What Leftists Don’t Get...”

Oh, they get it, completely. Our HUGE MISTAKE is assigning top-level values to them that match ours...maybe because we believe what they tell us, rather than going into their forums and actually finding out what they think and plan - or maybe we believe that they actually appreciate how lucky they were to be born here. Regardless...

Back in the early 20th Century, Vladimir Lenin supported Freedom of the Press (so he seemed to have the same values as us). Then, once in power, he promptly ended all vestiges of that.

He was later asked about it and replied (to the effect): “Yes, I did support Freedom of the Press, but that was when I was in the opposition.”

People on our side need to think hard, REALLY HARD, if they’re even considering boycotting the Georgia elections to ‘send the GOP a message’ (for not supporting Trump strongly enough for Lin Wood to be happy)...they may very well empower these people, when they could have done otherwise.

Like I said before, every-time a gay person tells me of a mean christian persecuting them in the past, I point to them at the sinners in the Roman empire having started that.

But at least Romans were actual Dionysian and not clueless groupis of the state begging for a rectifying their own personal inability to assume their sexuality.

That state will destroy eventually these parasites once it assumes control.

The Democrat Party in the USA is “Malum in se”...inherently evil.

Any political party that officially treats the innocent unborn as lives to be terminated at will is inherently EVIL.

The real problem with people who make no distinction between right and wrong or between honest and dishonest - is that they don’t comprehend that they are laying down a precedent.

Forever and always, if dishonesty allows them to accomplish THEIR goals, every single politician and public official will be free to do the same, at will.

No standard will remain for order, propriety, legitimacy ethics..etc,

The guy who got away with the lie or the theft, etc., will himself become the victim of lies and theft of others.. eventually. He will have NO redress in the law, at all...and neither will anyone else.

Then society and humanity reverts to barbarism.

“Barbarism is the absence of standards to which appeal can be made.”

Jose Ortega y Gasset

I would vote for Lorffler and Purdue, but I would also use the treat of not voting for them to get them to speak up about the crimes going on their own state, while I had the chance.

It’s no different than dealing with a yard worker, or house repairman. Do you pay them up front? Not if you’re smart. You hold that payment over their head until they do the job YOU want. They want to do something different than what you asked, then they run the risk they may not get paid.

You plan to pay them, but not up front, not until they’ve done what you want, what you need. Because once you pay them, you may never see them again.

I understand...and there were people saying just that, which I’m not crazy about, but others were saying “If they don’t do ‘this’, I’m not voting”. I take people at their word, here, which is why I went after them.

If nothing else, Freepers should read the last few paragraphs.

The Harris/Biden Left means business; its Storm Troopers will act FAST.

Freedom will die, gulags and re-education camps will spring up, and the midnight knock will become the new normal.

Nicely thought-out piece...

Of course the stop sign example -while being correct is impractical... a case can be made that each person defining when ‘stop means stop’ could get a little chaotic... but I get his points.

Great post.

“Spread Eagle.” That’s good. Gotta remember it.

Like “Gray Beaver,” the reader can’t avoid the immediate mental picture.
