personal investments management during a civil war
me | 2020-12-5 | me

any thoughts?

i am thinking

* payoff mortgage immediately

* divest from all stocks, mutual funds, bonds 50% now, 25% next week if bad news continues

* move into precious metals now, 50% from cash in bank now, 25% next week if bad news continues

* pay off any mortgage (if overall finances allow, eg, if mortgage currently being used as income tax dodge)

* (current blue state residents) prepare for possibility of a need to leave home with very little advance notice, travel to nearest solid red state - have or buy a decent auto, preferably 4x4 truck. plan the route now, memorize it

(anyone considering going to mexico? canada?)

(i would love to be wrong about a need to do all of this.)

thoughts welcome

Nobody with any sense of history is giddy with the prospect of a Civil War, even when you are in the right, they are always destructive in the worse ways. Look at the Declaration of Independence, the Founding Fathers of this country didn’t want to leave England, but felt due to the long series of abuses by the King of England it was necessary.
If you want another case, the Jews of Nazi Germany 1933 on tried every legal and political means, where did they end up? For the most part, the Democrat Party of this country is the new Nazi’s, they talk, act and hate just like the Nazi’s. People like us on forums like this are the new Jews, and plans are already in the works to deal with us. Don’t think that’s going to happen? The Democratic side has no issue murdering hundreds of thousands of their own children every year, they aren’t going to think twice about getting rid of us.
The politicians we send to government are supposed to do the work for us, because we don’t have time to protest in the streets, we are too busy trying to make the society and country work. I have a full time job, and kids to take care, going to a protest rally every weekend isn’t in the itinerary, and those here who are retired are probably active in their community.
I for one am tired of counter-acting the crap taught in schools to my children, dealing with governmental BS that makes me out to be criminal, and the general hate by the Democratic side of our country.

When the shtf, and the power grid is compromised, let me see you buy a loaf of bread with Bitcoin.

Stores will be more than willing to rely on blockchain technology for payment in that scenario...safer for them and safer for the customer.

Good luck lugging all that gold around with you though.

Yup, in a SHTF scenario there will likely come a time when ammo and potable water are far more valuable than PMs.

fatherofthree,

History is replete with examples...

Find an organic Trump rally in your area, get a Trump flag, and take your kids with you. It’s a wonderful experience to share with your kids that’s part of the fabric of America.

I bought my 8-year-old grandson this week to the Lin Powell/Sidney Powell press conference in Wills Park. He got a free Trump hat and witnessed history firsthand.

My youngest daughter is just 14 and has attended several events.

It’s not an every week event, but doable with kids. Especially now.....

Letter writing and phone calls are also fun to share with the kids.....

This all promotes civic responsibility and a sense of duty with the kids.....

Where there is a will there is a way...

Wishing you and your family the very best!

Exactly right. The “annexations” before Poland were test runs.

Thank You for the best wishes and the same goes for your family.
Your examples are some of many that I would bet that most of us here have done and should be continued.
But the issue is “The other side doesn’t recognize the rule of law”, as can easily be seen by the Presidential election.
The examples of our side “Turning the other cheek” are legion, but like the German Nazi’s, the Democratic Party only see’s that as weakness to be exploited.
Nobody in their right mind would want a civil war, they are messy, bloody and it isn’t only the bad people that die in them.
To quote someone who to say the least is controversial, but it makes the perfect point by William Tecumseh Sherman “War is the remedy that our enemies have chosen, and I say let us give them all they want”.
The Democratic Party (their leadership especially) has chosen violence, treason, corruption, lawlessness and deceit, not us.

I’ve said this before ... if you are a firearms owner, we will be the first to be targeted by Biteme. When the UNCONSTITUTIONAL NFA Act is modified to include virtually all semi-auto firearm will be banned. ATF will raid all firearms dealers for 4473 forms for their “list”.

If that happens, it is already past time to USE those firearms. Firearms are worthless otherwise.

On the domestic front, I am being periodically hammered over what i would describe as costs for quasi-normal dual purpose prep stuff, with the mortgage as the hammer of choice.

One approach with potential for resolution therefore is to make the mortgage problem go away.

That is why during this snow storm we are having in New Hampshire tonight, I’ve been in the basement loading up some of the 2,000 pieces of 5.56 Lake City that has been staring me in the face for the past few months.

“The militaries command and control, air superiority, and overwhelming logistics ability (not to mention firepower) would relegate any insurrection to a bloody mess in days, not weeks and months.”

The U.S. military had air superiority in Vietnam too. And naval superiority. And logistical superiority. Nuclear weapons stockpile also.

Those are not the only things important in a fight.

I like your conclusion: “All legal and political means MUST be exhausted first.”

Stores rely on blockchain technology when the energy grid is toast and the deep state controls the internet.

The availability of blockchain is NOT something solely determined by the United States, and if the energy grid here gets “toasted” there will be other places to go.

The key will be whether or not your wealth is able to travel with you, so good luck hauling all that gold around.
