We have seen police appear to "stand down" during rioting, looting and violence. Many think that they are given orders to allow rioters to have their way.
Do police have the right to reject orders from mayors to stand down? If you are a police officer I would like to hear what you have to say.

If they had any character, morals, sense of honor, fidelity to their oath etc. they could. But then if they did they never would have signed up to be the street muscle for filthy, corrupt democrat city governments in the first place.
For me, as a Correctional Officer, I had to go through a training academy, and received the same weapons training that police officers do. I couldn’t carry a badge without that certification. We had Peace Officer status 24 hours a day, and were allowed to purchase and carry weapons on our badges. And while we could make arrests for crimes that we witnessed, we couldn’t go out and pick someone up, stop people for traffic violations, or serve warrants. If we arrested anyone, they would have been turned over to the police department for processing. So while all police officers are peace officers, not all peace officers are police officers. It boils down to the legal duties that each performs.
CAN POLICE REFUSE ORDERS FROM MAYORS?
It really doesn’t matter if it is police, or anyone getting a paycheck. If you are asked to follow an illegal order, which most of what is going on now is illegal, then yes, you should refuse.
If my boss told me to rob a bank, and I knew I was robbing a bank, I don’t think I would get a break because it was a work order.
I can understand stand down orders if there are no direct victims, and you are outmanned, but I would then think the NG or someone else should be called in. To continue this night after night, is illegal.
I really only see 2 arguments for police following these illegal orders. One is that they would be fired. Well, anybody would be fired if they didn’t follow direct orders by their boss. Public, or private, it is no excuse. Or, police officers are compared to the military following orders. This is a totally different thing. A private may not be privy the strategy behind combat movements. Being a police officer, much different. Here is a list of 10 activities. Half are illegal acts, and half are not. I would hope that are police officers are smart enough to figure out which is which.
1. Man grabbing and running away with a woman’s purse.
2. Woman walking with purse into store you notice her due to the beautiful red lipstick on her lips.
3. Woman spray painting a building she doesn’t own with graffiti.
4.Man attending a church service
5. Couple holding up a grocery store at knife point
6. Couple, while following all rules that the rest of staff must follows, visits aging parent in nursing home.
7. Man breaking the windows of a retail store he is running past.
8. Woman, cutting the hair of a paying customer.
9. Man, rushing the stage at a “back the blue” event.
10. Man, filming on public property the empty hospital that the MSM claimed was overrun.
This is really not hard folks. Of course we back the blue, but they have to figure out who side they are on. It’s either with the Constitution, or it’s not.
There needs to be an Amber alert when the mayor orders the police to stand down.
“Warning, the police have been ordered by the mayor to look the other way, you are on your on.”
Did anyone think that mayors, or governors, could do this?:
Order police to do nothing while crimes (buildings robbed and burned,beatings, even murder) are being committed in front of them?
Can these politicians be held responsible for such orders, that result in citizens being harmed?
The purpose of the police is to raise revenue, and to protect the government. It has no other actual purpose.
Are you receiving their calls for service in various cities?
And, do you miss my point? Some people do fulfill their oaths.
If there were only ten OKs in the country, they would be some of the best and bravest.

I didn’t either. The question was if the police could refuse an order from a mayor. My answer was yes, and I displayed one of the ways it could happen.
