"Dave Kindig, star of Velocity’s “Bitchin’ Rides”, introduced a 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 convertible with a 427 FE block and dual throttle body fuel injection at SEMA 2017. Creative Kindig touches include ’68 Camaro bumpers, flush mounted head lights, and wide white rims. It’s a one-of-a-kind Bitchin’ ride!"

Hard to let the old, *known* vehicles go.

Friend of mine, had a Ford manufactured NASCAR 1963 Fairlane.
One of the set, that Ford had to make, fitting some NASCAR rules.
It had 4 twin Weber downdraft carburetors. Also, the front suspension had some kind of short-link “knuckles” for the upper A-arms, which helped the car to settle a bit, and the camber would adjust a bit, in turns.
I had to keep my foot on the gas pedal, in any idle situation, so that the RPM would not drop below 1,300, or the engine would begin to stumble a bit and quit, if you did not catch it.
We “test drove” the car on old roads north of the city’s airport.
I was too careful and would not push the speed past about 103; but I got some of the picture. There was a lot of power to spare, and at 103, I was still, barely using the pedal.
My friend worked sales for the local Ford dealer who was a sponsor for A. J. Foyt. For Foyt, a red and white, maybe 1967 Fairlane or Torino fastback sat in the shop on occasion. I think that was for relatively short track racing - probably USAC. I never got close to that car.
My friend had 2 1957 T-Birds, 2 Shelby Cobras, and 1 Pantera.
It was a time of great adventure.

” That car was not designed for that much horsepower.”
Years ago I read about the owners of Buick? V-6 turbo coupes that raised the boost to insane levels for drag racing.
Apparently the massive torque was tearing the body and frames apart.
Since the election my television has been mostly Motortrend and TMC. That boot camp spin-off Kindig did was surprisingly good. His team’s builds are ultimate stuff. Really enjoy Garage Squad, Texas Metal, Wheeler Dealers and Iron Resurrection.
Your vehicle posts are splendid. Thanks.

My dad had a 1957 Skyliner with the 312 V-8, white with black and white interior. Great car, but the top was hell to keep working right.

Typical kindig. Lower it, shave the bumpers, put some wheels on it and new upholstery. And he is always, always late.
Actually I am kinda tied of reruns of Bitch’in Rides.
Kindig does have a talented crew so I give him props for that.
There are guys doing way more interesting things out there.

Blasphemy.

Among my other favorite restoration/customizing car shows are "Iron Resurrection" (ie, Martin Bros, as in your 2nd link), and
"Graveyard Carz", which features only gorgeous vintage Mopars (Dodge Charger/Challenger, Plymouth Barracuda/Roadrunner/GTX, etc.
