I have begun to feel as if I am back in East Germany. People are being indoctrinated into supine acceptance of top-down managerial policing by a political and financial elite
Crossing the rather grim Grenzübergangsstelle on my first visit to communist East Germany, two things struck me with uncommon force: the gun-emplacement towers every few kilometers along the Hanover-Berlin autobahn, and the comportment of East German drivers. The towers were certainly intimidating, constantly reminding us that we were at permanent risk and convincing us never to drive eccentrically or conspicuously.
But I found the conduct and “positioning” of drivers in their Trabants and Wartburgs even more disconcerting. I noticed that many of these drivers did not adopt the 10-2 grip on the wheel, and almost none practiced the more casual and relaxed one-handed style. Instead, they tended to place their wrists on the top of the steering wheel and let their hands hang limply behind it, like laundry on the line. An inveterate list-maker and note-taker, I began keeping count and found that of the 100 cars I tallied, 32 drivers exhibited this slack or droopy posture, as if they were somehow resigned, enervated and spiritless.
This was, for me, a kind of Joycean epiphany of what life in a socialist or communist regime must entail—it was all in the wrist. As Jan Morris wrote in Fifty Years of Europe, recounting her visit to East Germany,
“Travelling from west to east was like entering a drab and disturbing dream, peopled by all the ogres of totalitarianism, a half-lit world of shabby resentments, where anything could be done to you, I used to feel, without anybody ever hearing of it, and your every step was dogged by watchful eyes and mechanisms.”

I think the deep statists want that kind of power. It is all about power and control.
They want to break our spirit.
Xi isn't the kind of guy to trust traitors. People who will betray their own country will just as easily betray his.
Bump
“Xi isn’t the kind of guy to trust traitors. People who will betray their own country will just as easily betray his.”
I believe your statement 100% fact. All to often the useful idiots find themselves on the wrong end of a firing squad after a commie takeover or regime change within a commie country. Traitors would be shot first.
Article is so spot on, I am using a quote from it as my tagline now.
Spot on.
“I think the deep statists want that kind of power.”
Even without voter fraud, a substantial percentage of the country voted to give the deep state that kind of power. Now they may have voted for Harris out of ignorance or stupidity, but they voted for their own demise nonetheless.
Often today when in Western European countries the mood and sentiment feels similar, if not as extreme. There is a palpable difference there.
Everyone who has taken even a cursory look at the conduct of the Left when they get their hands on the levers of power knows that many of the people who helped them get their hands on those levers are often among the first to be dragged off for a bullet in the head.
And they usually scream in outraged puzzlement “Why are you doing this? I’m on your side!”
The people who helped them get into power are dangerous because once they get a whiff of reality under tyranny, they can offer that same support to someone who wishes to overthrow them.
Leftists are pitiless tyrants who won’t take any chances.
The DNC is modeling itself on the STASI

The useful idiots “revolutionary foot soldiers” are the greatest threat to the new regime once its established. Precisely why Castro basically wiped them all out once he took over. His biggest threat, Che, left and went to South America to get himself greased.

My wife does not feel the same way I do, and wears a mask everywhere, but I refuse to wear one outside. I won't do it. I will wear one into a restaurant or store if the establishment requires it (because I don't want to put employees on the spot who might be expected to enforce it) but I will not submit to that degree of idiocy, even under penalty of law.
It makes my wife uncomfortable, and I regret having to make her feel that way, but I am not going to do it. Even if they make it an enforceable law and not a request, I won't do it.
I'll go to jail instead.
Of course, when I conveyed my sentiment to someone, they accurately pointed out that going to jail in that rabidly Leftist town that is overwhelmingly populated by homosexuals, that jail cell might not be the best place for a straight guy to be.
The same thing happened in Vietnam to the VC leadership. Stalin cleaned house by the millions.
The problem with these useful idiots is they are idiots. They have no concept of history.
Solzhenitsen recounted that many in the gulags still supported communism. They believed they were there for a reason. The state was their god. It could do no wrong.
They believed in the "you can't make an omelette without breaking eggs" even if they were the eggs being broken.
I traveled that route a time or two. When crossing into East Germany, I thought I had just landed on another planet. It was THAT much different, from West Germany.
At Checkpoint Charlie, I read the sign, that said, “you are leaving the American sector.” Going into East Berlin, I felt like I was experiencing evil, up close and personal. I thought it was a bit chilling.
If i were to guess a ultra lefty place near me based on that photo i would guess Rockport, MA...
Oh ok afer reading through now i am thinking P-Town, MA..
