For anyone who doesn’t know, ONE light-year, the DISTANCE light travels in a year, at its basically constant speed of 186,000 miles per SECOND, is roughly 6 TRILLION miles! (5.9 trillion)

That said...

“NGC 6822 is a mere 1.5 million light-years away, a member of our Local Group of galaxies. A dwarf irregular galaxy similar to the Small Magellanic Cloud, NGC 6822 is about 7,000 light-years across.”
