I think Obamacare has hurt us more than we thought it would. The idea of lockdowns and mask mandates is all centered around the concept of medical socialism. The mantra that “we are all in this together” only grows when a nation has socialized medicine. The long term benefits for getting rid of Obamacare are incredible. Is there a politician brave enough to call for the elimination of Obamacare?

It’s not the flu. Rather, it is a very benign form of the common cold that can’t even kill an infant.

Regarding the 300,000 more total deaths this year...
Consider the great many that avoided check-ups, elective surgeries and other health-related activities because of Chinese Flu fear.
Consider the stress from fear, unchosen major lifestyle changes and lock-down loneliness.
Consider that most of the hospitalized were/are tested for Covid19, but in past years all patients were NOT tested for flu. Are hospitals this year testing all for flu, also? (Many past years’ cases labeled flu tested negative for flu, btw).
The different behavior and stress in the population this year, and high Covid-specific testing, MUST be considered when discussing more deaths than usual and Covid.

What demographic were these "people" that died of COVID a part of? Hmmm????
some were elderly some were not. some had underlying conditions some did not. the propensity to blame the victim here is read if acknowledging a real illness is sickening. It exists it is real and it kills people About like a bad flu. H1N1 was devastating for some as well. Making light of peoples tragedies to make oneself feel better is a trait if the left and does not belong here

I have seen inexplicably young health people in good shape struggle in the ICU with this disease and I was very touch and go. The point Mom made is it is NOT a benign cold. To downplay it thus is just as dishonest as kooky kozak. While it merits not the lock downs it is a bad actor and hard to pin down who and why one struggles with it.
I enjoy your posts and you are reasonable but I implore you not to engage in hyperbole the other direction.
I’ve had a couple colds this year.. neither was fatal.

i have stood at bedside. You are hiding behind a keyboard. I have seen young people devastatingly ill. Before you call bs come put on isolation gear and take care of a few of these people if you have the guts. I’m not spending fear but i’m not denying reality either. You however apparently hate the elderly because it’s ok if they die from this disease by your reasoning.

Again my main issue is your hyperbole that this is a benign cold. It is not
I actually think it more like H1N1 where Obama and Biden got away with no longer testing. There is no question this disease has been politicized up the ass. Lockdowns dont work. Masks don’t work.
But we need to accept the reality that it’s a nasty bug with an unusual proclivity to advance to unbelievably awful. This is why vaccines are a good thought to accelerate herd immunity. It would in general be better not to get the disease.
