The Lynchburg Police Department is investigating a home invasion that occurred on Wooldridge Circle early Wednesday morning, Nov. 25.
According to police, at 1:40 a.m., officers responded to the 100-block of Wooldridge Circle for a report of a burglary in progress.
They say two men knocked on a residence and assaulted the resident before trying to enter the home. The resident shot both suspects who suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
27-year-old James Franklin of Roanoke is charged with breaking and entering and assault and battery and 26-year-old Alan Douglas Mould of Lynchburg is charged with breaking and entering and assault and battery.

Anyone who breaks into a home has lost his right to live, and is responsible for his own death.
“Two home invaders shot. It is a good reason to carry when you answer the door.”
For that matter, a good reason NOT to answer your door, and instead arm-up if someone rings unexpectedly.
They still may break into your house, but you have a air-tight case if you plant them inside your residence and don’t disturb the scene.
And using a silencer on your home invasion deterrent device prevents your family from hearing damage.

We also have an ornate iron gate on both front and back doors that bolts into the frame of the house - we can see through it perfectly without having to open the door and it can’t be kicked in.
Also got The Ring recently, has a motion detector that floods the area with light so I can see who is on my front porch before they even ring the bell, ask them what they want and let then know they’re being recorded. Can’t recommend it enough.
I’m also armed. Anyone who gets past my dogs will get an axe to the brain and then shot.

In the first place, there are residences that are constructed in a way that you can not knock on the door.
