ALEX TREBEK POSTHUMOUSLY TELLS FANS TO KEEP THE FAITH

Alex Trebek left a Thanksgiving message behind ... a message of faith and hope as he valiantly fought his battle with cancer.

As we reported, Alex filmed his show almost to the end -- he was hosting "Jeopardy!" just 10 days before he died, and one of his final acts was to record a message that will air on Thanksgiving day.

The folks at "Jeopardy!" are eternally grateful ... the show's twitter page has a new post which reads, "High on our list of things to be thankful for this year: Alex's Thanksgiving message from today's show."

Alex, whose voice was raspy and was suffering from the pain and exhaustion of stage 4 pancreatic cancer, tried to comfort viewers, telling them there are "many reasons to be thankful." His optimism shone through, talking about the various acts of kindness that have emerged from COVID times.

His message -- "Keep the faith. We're going to get through all of this, and we will be a better society because of it."

Alex Trebek suggested a sportscaster, Alex Faust, and some black woman from CNN as an afterthought I guess. Alex Faust would be good, IMO. He is young, can speak well. Hope they don’t pick some “diverse” person.

The game show host has spoken.

Long live the game show host.

I dont watch it. Not even sure I ever watched a full show. Too cerebral for me

Alex sure turned it into a cash cow.

Will be hard to replace him.

Drew Carey has been able to carry on Bob Barker’s legacy who was pretty loved.

“Attracting a more diverse audience,»
I.e., plans in the works to dumb it down.
They were already moving that direction by including more popular culture, video game categories, and crap like that.

I don’t care for Jennings and don’t watch much anymore except maybe for Final Jeopardy, but the chances of them choosing a white male these days would be slim unless it’s already a well-liked celeb who wants a new gig.

Jennings on Tweater:

When Trump starts a war, I’m just hoping the other side understands the deal and only bombs, like, the Midwest and the South.

Yeah, he’s both a jerk and a nerd at the same time.

I did watch back during his streak but of course the show doesn’t really allow any indication of political party.
(Aside from, if they introduce someone as a “community organizer,” teacher, or social worker you can pretty much guess, haha.)

I expect Jeopardy will start to really resemble
those Saturday Night Live skits that SNL did.

Now there’s an idea.
They can sign up Will Ferrell!
A rabid lib, but those were truly funny.
