I think we all need a little diversion with a human interest story. The article is about a man who excelled in sports, served his country, and who just celebrated 81 years of marriage. A man from the greatest generation, when duty and honor meant everything. A life of commitment that should be celebrated.

My parents were married Aug 18, 1939...they were married 55 years when Mom died .....Dad died the next year..
Id loved to still have them both here...

If Mom had lasted another year, she and Dad would have celebrated their 70th anniversary this last Dec.
BTW, they were actually late bloomers, getting married at age 26, practically spinsterhood in those days!
Dad died this summer of the Covid Lockdown. No, I didn't say due to Covid. But rather, due to the Covid Lockdown.
He would have been 97 last week. A WWII Navy vet.
Dang, I miss him.
