A “fit and healthy” teenage wrestler in England has died within hours of being hospitalized with COVID-19.
Cameron Wellington, a 19-year-old professional wrestler from Walsall, tested positive for the virus on Nov. 10, but his condition quickly took a turn for the worse, Birmingham Mail reported.
“Cam was adamant he was fine but I could tell (something was wrong). The color was draining from him,” his mother Jane Wellington told the outlet.
He was rushed to the hospital Wednesday with breathing problems — and doctors said he “wasn’t expected to last an hour

“His mother’s definition.”
Maybe she’ll call me “handsome”. LOL.
I’ve seen videos of fit soccer players literally dropping dead on the pitch from undiagnosed heart conditions.
Most mothers will say their sons are handsome.
Ha! RIP though. Sad. The picture has him with a dozen empty beer glasses. Not the best image.
Exactly right.
If you go back, let’s say, 2 years, you can probably find a story of a college basketball player who just dropped dead during a pickup game. Tragic. But not a reason everyone needs to close their business across the country.
Apparently the China disease can activate dormant issues.
Never mind that both Covid-19 tests are completely unreliable and hand out false-positives like a slot machine.
No, there doesn’t need to be anything more to this. You guys who think that the disease doesn’t affect young people are simply incorrect. It kills very, very few young people, but it does affect them.
Distance runners are routinely mal nourished and their nervous systems are on the brink of breakdown. No one asks if the runner has been training. That would increase the chance of a bad outcome. Not decrease it.
The virus in question is basically harmless to the young. Stop it Karen.
So, mathematically speaking, given the size of the U.S. population in 2019 (330 million) and the estimated number of injuries from lightning strikes (243), the odds of being struck by lightning in an 80-year lifetime are 1 in 15,300.
If you are young the chances of dying from COVID are roughly the same as being struck by lightning.
Basically harmless to *most*, not all. I have two personal anecdotal examples. A 31-year old female patient of my sister’s died on the vent, no preexisting conditions or comorbidities. The second: a female friend of one of my staff, a healthy girl in her late 20s who was a distance runner, acquired COVID-19 earlier this year. She recovered, but the disease injured her lungs, and not only can she no longer run, she can’t do normal activities without using some kind of an inhaler to allow her to breathe.
Just because most skate through it doesn’t mean all do.
Very few deaths from stage 4 cancers.
Deaths from car accidents are miraculously down.
And in recent news...
A plane carrying 235 people recently crashed into a 300 year old cemetery. So far 325 bodies have been recovered. The search continues for survivors, but hope is quickly fading.
Of the 325 bodies recovered, 287 died from covid. (yes sarcasm)
That was my thought too.......
There is a strong link between energy drinks and a suppressed immune system, or an over taxed immune system.
I’d be interested in knowing a link between ‘ENERGY’ drinks and Covid
I’m opposed to lockdowns. I’m just trying to correct the false impression that the disease is harmless to the young—that’s wrong.
even if he was fit- it’s a one off situation- 99.9% of people (something like that) survive just fine
“No, there doesn’t need to be anything more to this.”
You seem to have forgotten a jr high lesson in science...
Correlation doesn’t equal causation
“You guys who think that the disease doesn’t affect young people are simply incorrect. “
You are incorrect to assume or attribute that those who look for other possibilities are denying that IT CAN kill.
” It kills very, very few young people, but it does affect them.”
WRONG!!!
It kills very, very few young people, but it does affect SOME of them.
