Utahns, overall, are split in their opinions of the kind of job U.S. Sens. Mike Lee and Mitt Romney are doing, a recent UtahPolicy.com poll finds.
Neither Republican is up for re-election this year: Lee runs for a third, six-year term in 2022 and Romney faces his first re-election in 2024.
But a dive into the demographics of the Y2 Analytics survey finished last month shows the challenges the two face within their own Republican Party -- or, rather, the challenge Romney faces.
Unless a lot of Utah Republicans and conservatives change their minds about Romney -- and that likely depends on the political/personal fate of President Donald Trump come 2024 -- then the man who voted to impeach Trump will find his GOP re-nomination very much in doubt.
Among all Utahns, 46 percent said they “strongly” or “somewhat” approve of the job Lee is doing as Utah’s senior senator. The same number, 46 percent, “somewhat” or “strongly” disapprove of Lee. Seven percent don’t know.
Romney’s job approval is about the same -- 50 percent approve of him, 49 percent disapprove, with only 1 percent not having an opinion.
But look at these partisan numbers:

He wont have his dominion voting machines to get him back into office LOL .

I detest him and his ilk...
What’s wrong with the other 16 percent?
The guy has a mental problem.
Utah needs to have all paper ballots—and then Romney will be burnt toast in a primary.
He will be appointed as Vice President by President Kamala Harris. The establishment Republican Senators will follow him into the Democrat Party.
Nice to know, but probably irrelevant. I’d be shocked if he ran for re-election in 4 years. Plus, even though the earlier story that he had been offered a cabinet post by Biden turned out not to be true, I still wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up in the Biden Administration in some capacity.
Does anyone else consider that fund raising millions of dollars for elections leads to this kind of corruption?
Should it be necessary to have that kind of money to get into office?
Suppose candidates conducted their interviews and not buying time on national media but via C-SPAN? C-SPAN could be paid to conduct and handle debates. When we file our Income Taxes we select a donation to political matters. Where is that money going to? And how much of it is there? How much has this fiasco cost already? A politician or party shouldn’t be allowed to buy a position.
A friend in southern Utah says if Mitt visited, he might not leave alive. Just some bones somewhere in the southern Utah desert....
So why did they vote for him... or did they?
Pierre Delecto is not a republican.
THE MILLISECOND that i hear Donald Trump kick off the MAGA Party and dump the republican designated losers.
I’m aboard.
I hate this SOB.
Republicans in Utah nominated this idiot. It’s never been a secret that he is an ultra-RINO ass. But he’s one of the Mo-Mo “tribe”, so the fools just blindly coronated the Bishop of Kolob.
If 49% of Utahns disapprove of Mittens, but 84% of “strong Republicans” disapprove of him, then I guess there aren’t that many strong Republicans in Utah.
