You either love or hate him. I’ve been a fan since I was 13. He has some great stuff and some that is not. He certainly could see into the future and the direction of society. Back from his “Freak Out” album “and I don’t even care if your dad’s a he.” Or just listen to the rarely listened to “Joe’s Garage act II and III”.
Don’t you boys know any nice songs?
And Catholic Girls!
I was an instant fan, starting with Freak Out. I also liked Absolutely Free a lot, and We’re Only In It for the Money. After that, I had mixed feelings and wasn’t always automatically buying new releases, but there were still some ones I loved, like Ruben and the Jets.
Incidentally, I first thought the same thing you did about the word ‘he’ in the line you quoted. But I then changed my mind, thinking he was saying ‘Hebe’, a reference to Jewish ancestry.
Now, from wikipedia, another possibility exists:
“Hebe, an ethnic slur for a Jew
Shortened form of Hebephilia, a sexual interest in pubescent children”
To me, this makes more sense in the context of the song than ‘he’...
Huh? Wha? Where you been in livin, Reseda?
Packard Goose may be the best tune on that album.
