Supermarkets have remained open during both national lockdowns and new data collated by Public Health England (PHE) from the NHS Test and Trace App has revealed that shops are the most frequent Covid exposure setting...They looked at the contacts of those who had caught the virus and retraced the steps of 128,808 people who tested positive.

Of those who tested positive, it was found that 18.3 per cent had visited a supermarket...

I’m not sure I would want to eat British food on a good day. After watching TV cooking shows about English food, I’m not sure I would want to eat anything from the UK except for shortbread cookies.

I have traveled the world pretty extensively. One of the best meals I have ever had was at a pub in England. Roast beef, mashed potatoes and fresh peas all done to perfection. One of the worst meals I ever had was at a pub in England. Fish and chips that were pure crap.

I’m gonna guess that active people going to stores are in general going to be those with better immune systems. And, delivery people are obvious candidates as super spreaders.

As for the dogs, well, virions mostly end up on the floor, sidewalk, etc. Who sanitizes their dog’s feet effectively?

I live in the province of Granada and I read about this study on FR in an earlier post. I posted it in a Granada Facebook group and nobody had heard of it, not in the province or the capital city of Granada. I'm guessing the sample was too small to make much of a difference so they didn't bother to publicize it other than in an academic journal, where it was picked up by someone and given to the Sun.

BTW, the article in this thread is also from the Sun and it contradicts the other one because the one in this thread states that people who go to supermarkets are more likely to get it while the one I posted states that you are more likely to get it if you get your groceries delivered than if you go to the Supermarket. They should combine the two and say you're in danger in the supermarket and in even more danger if you opt for delivery so choose the supermarket as the lesser of two evils.

I believe that Walmart, Target, Home Depot and Lowe’s are going to start imposing metering to limit the number of people in the store.
