Wife showed me a Facebook post, but that's it.anything?
few weeks old:

Are you going to strike from your job?
I think they may wait for the election results to be final.
Could be a long strike if the fraud is ignored.
I read they had decided against it, or at least the union recommended they not strike, saying now wasn’t the right time to strike because of Thanksgiving and Christmas coming. I don’t know if anything else has come out on it.
The union? Not all truckers are in ‘the union’. Lots of indies out there.
And some of them will likely join. There’s a truck fleet owner on Youtube saying he has no problem if there’s a nationwide protest shutdown.
I’m guessing someone pointed out to them that the idea of targeting the supply system on Veterans Day and the Thanksgiving holiday was 12 levels below stupid.
While I agree, it probably isn't the best marketing idea to support their cause, the whole purpose of the strike is to inflict a pain-point on the populace to bring awareness. For God's sake, there are Governors and appointed Swamp Rats that are telling us not to gather for Thanksgiving.
“The union? Not all truckers are in ‘the union’. Lots of indies out there.”
Most truckers are not union. The biggest private truck fleet in the world, Wal Mart, is not union and half of the rest out there are independents.
“union” is total BS when it comes to truckers.
This is just some lefty trying to put a liars slant on it.
I believe that you are correct. :-)
The truckers should drop their trailers at strategic locations in cities across the country. Block early morning rush hour traffic. All around DC, NY, Chicago, etc.
Disrupt the system. Show the rats who has the power.
Not sure how many truckers will actually do this. Who wants the threat of being fired in this age of chinese virus and economy woes?
Maybe some independent ones. Anyone who drives for say WM, Fed Ex or Amazon would be fired immed.
Need the farmers to get on their tractors and get on the hioghway as was done in the 1970’s.
Who are they going to replace them with? There is a shortage of truckers out there, so they have some pretty decent leverage if they choose to exercise it.
I went to the Durham NC Costco today. No toilet paper in the store. The entire section of the warehouse was empty.
Hoarding has already started.
“Who are they going to replace them with? There is a shortage of truckers out there, so they have some pretty decent leverage if they choose to exercise it.”
Self driving trucks are only 7-10 year away. Yes , lets tick off the employers to speed up the process even more.
I’m a trucker. I have no interest in inflicting pain on ordinary citizens to make a political point. I wouldn’t need to wait and see if the elites would stay cozily insulated from the serious damage inflicted on my neighbors, because I already know the answer. Anyone with enough life experience to keep his own pants dry knows it too. I’ll take a pass on creating a dire emergency to distract the entire country from the problems I originally set out to protest. Another pass on showing my “support” for President Trump by hanging a turd like this around his neck while he’s waging the fight of his life.
The dullards who are proposing this plan strike the “mostly peaceful protest” pose by stating that drivers hauling medical supplies should keep working. Five minutes later the same thread has a flock of chaotic nutties urging a blockade of the highways that would allow those deliveries to go through. The more I think about it, the more this whole hare-brained proposal sounds like false-flag leftist agitprop intended to discredit our side.
I think we need enough discernment to avoid jumping on every passing bandwagon that appeals to excited emotions.
