Back in the late 70s early 80's the world was on fire and a weird thing happened, a rebellion of sorts, from the right and the left and definitely from the ground up.
Post yer punk faves here

If you have never seen it, Rollins vs Pop is hilarious
What a fine commentary of the world at the time.
FR always amazes me with its diversity
John Lydon aka “Johnny Rotten” had been publicly supporting Donald Trump for years but this fall he did several interviews where he openly endorsed Trump, spoke out against Democrat leadership/control of California, and spoke out against the COVID lockdowns.
He also set straight his critics who said that because he’s “punk” he must think “one way”. He says it always was about doing things your way.

Yet now we embrace our new Chinese overlords and biden wants to reset the clock to year zero.

SPIT!!
Very interesting song. Vacationing in Cambodia in the days of Pol Pot would be like vacationing today in an enclave held by Hezbollah, Al-Quaeda in the Arabian Peninsula or Boko Haram.
The PC Left HATED punk until they subverted it.
Same with the folkies dislike/disregard for rock and roll.
The new generation didn’t like the hypocrisy of the hippies.
I met a dear woman who escaped Cambodia at that time, Pol Pot was targeting anyone with education or money, they got out with the shirts on their back because they could read the writing on the wall
Hold up pretty well I think.

I know people call The Ramones a punk band but I always considered them a good garage rock band.
I knew a guy whose entire family left Phnom Pen on foot. There were 15 when they started.
3 made it.
