The key to conservatives reclaiming and rescuing any sense of America as we have known it for the last several decades is education. Not just raising our children to know right from wrong and good from evil, though that’s a good start. Regardless of your religious affiliation, it usually doesn’t hurt to throw a little God in for good measure. It’s not necessary that they be devout followers but learning that there’s something bigger than them... than all of us... will be helpful.
The way to start taking back this country is by getting conservatives and conservative ideas back into the classroom. It would be helpful in K-12, but I mean specifically the university system. That is our frontline battleground now and in the future.
We’ve all heard the amusing adage something to the effect of how young people are liberal until they start getting a paycheck and paying taxes, i.e. they enter into the “real world.” We trust that as people mature and start dealing with the harsh realities of life, they also reconcile the fact that modern liberalism and its core tenets are a proven disaster. Not one liberal ideal makes any practical sense in the real world.

The democRATs want perpetual children who are trained to do as they are told.
Six decades too late. The cultural Marxist cancer grew (intentionally) and is now metastasized.
Treating this cancer today will require harsh, invasive, damaging, painful and costly treatment.
The author is completely missing the point:
The way to start taking back this country is by getting conservatives and conservative ideas back into the classroom.
Newsflash: We took our country back by delivering a LANDSLIDE victory to president Trump two weeks ago. That victory has been STOLEN! You get the country back only if you fight and defeat this massive fraud!
Vouchers/school choice. That’s the only way. University degrees are a waste of time.
“Vouchers/school choice. That’s the only way. University degrees are a waste of time.”
Sad that Trump + DeVos didn’t retake conservative ground in the government-education-NEA complex, though PDJT did make some good changes recently.
Mike Rowe (of Dirty Jobs) has some really good online commentaries about the ‘college is always needed’ myth. ‘College is always needed’ is only to grow the higher education job market and increase leftist indoctrination of our youts.
Well, we’re doomed then, because most conservatives think teaching other people’s children is beneath their dignity, which is why we are where we are today.
The True Battleground Is Education
Really, this is the whole reason the "liberal/conservative" thing has emerged in the last fifty years or so.
When I was growing up it wasn't "a thing" because our parents were raised in a culture that taught a great many norms, central among which was that the American way of life was absolutely superior to that of other countries, and that the American form of government was the best one ever created for ensuring the safety, peace, and freedom of society.
In the 1960s, that canon began to be questioned and broken down by intellectual leaders.
Some might argue that the breakdown actually started earlier, in the 1930s, with the rise of "progressive" thought at great institutions like Oxford and Cambridge.
But the "western civ has got to go" mantra is the cause of the rise of "Conservatism" as a reaction to the forces (called "progressive," but actually regressive) that seek to tear down western civilization and all it has achieved.
Some young people — a subset — choose to educate themselves as to the freedoms they are losing. With the internet, there are manifest ways of accomplishing this, although there are other forces trying to interfere with their efforts. These tend to become "Conservatives."
Lost that battle years ago.
t would be helpful in K-12, but I mean specifically the university system. That is our frontline battleground now and in the future.
That, the university, is the wrong battle line to draw. Why? Because by the time these children have entered the university system, the children have had years and years of indoctrination. The children then would revolt and fight this battle line tooth and nail and not much ground would come of this.
The way this does get changed is to get involved in the elementary and secondary fronts at the bottom. Work our way into administrative positions that do the hiring. Once the hiring is controlled then and only then can this begin to be changed.
This is how India took over our STEM technologies. First they trickled in to gain trust. Then they showed their success to get into a management position. Once in a management position they then could control who they hired and who they let go. As more management positions were taken, more people were hired from India and less Americans were hired.
The key to taking back our education system is to first get into the hiring chain and in the administrative offices. Once these two things are secured then and only then can we begin to take back our education system from the bottom to the top. It will take time and will take a concerted effort to undo what has been done.
A lot of people here look down on teachers and school staff for very good reason. However, we have to school the right people and that means how we look at teachers and how we pay teachers. A village is needed to raise a child, maybe, but it is going to take a lot more than that to change that child’s education for the better.
I know in today’s society people are indoctrinated into wanting everything yesterday. But it is going to take awhile for this to happen. And when I say a while I am meaning it is going to take years, Do people really have that kind of stamina and fortitude to become what they despise, a professional teacher, in order to change it? That is the question everyone must ask themselves. It isn’t going to take one or two people it is going to take an army.
If you want to change things at the University level, the best way to do this would be to start a university with teaching degrees then work on changing the tests required to become a teacher in each state. Again, a rough road ahead but a concerted long-term sustained effort can and will change our education system. Then we can work on getting laws changed but we have to work inside the system first to change it.
FReepers, forgive me for repeating myself as I’ve posted this many times.
My mother was a typist for the FBI in WWII, and saw/typed/read the Communist plans for the internal takeover of the US which the House of Representatives listed in 1963 - and key in their plans were to take over higher education in two depts.: education and journalism. Through these, they would then take over all education and media.
Fait accompli. Done. Working better than they ever planned.
While we slept stupidly through the ‘60’s til now, they took over and now control both 99% of all education and media. And every year our high schools graduate about 3.7 million dumbed-down, brainwashed idiots who cannot think and who have the emotional maturity of 12 year olds while having college degrees or even grad degrees. Hello Antifa.
NO CONSERVATIVE HAS EVER COME UP WITH A PLAN TO TURN THIS AROUND. Homeschooling is not a universal answer - it is a personal one (we homeschooled our 8 starting in ‘82 before it was cool. All are strong Christian conservative adults successful in their fields w/8 degrees among them they got on their own - by the grace of God.).
I don’t believe there is a solution. PLEASE CORRECT ME!
Without a solution for this, it is only a short time before w are simply outnumbered by the brainwashed fools - like all those who voted for a man who’s done nothing for 47 years and has dementia.
The problem is not education.
The problem is massive legal immigration and massive Amnesties.
Among white voters, Trump won every age group.
Among white voters, Trump won 55% of females and 61% of males.
It did not matter, because...
In 2020, 40% of USA residents are non-white.
In 2020, only 26% of non-white voters voted for Trump.
Unless Republicans stop massive immigration and massive Amnesties, the United States of America is going to be voted out of existence!
Public indoctrination posing as education is the biggest challenge in the USA. Over the last 50 years the shift has been more pronounced than one could have previously imagined.
To paraphrase Walrus (sic) Cronkite, “when you lose middle schools, you lose the America you wanted your kids to enjoy”.
God have mercy on those who scorn Him.
We’ve all heard the amusing adage something to the effect of how young people are liberal until they start getting a paycheck and paying taxes, i.e. they enter into the real world. We trust that as people mature and start dealing with the harsh realities of life, they also reconcile the fact that modern liberalism and its core tenets are a proven disaster. Not one liberal ideal makes any practical sense in the real world.

This is wishful thinking by the author. Popular vote has gone with the Left for awhile. We’re fortunate to have our Electoral College System of things would be worse. There’s an awful lot of adults (even elderly) that vote for Left-wing politicians and policies. We may not want to admit it, but it is true.
Re: conservatives in the government school re-education camps
Should people work as re-education camp guards in **real** camps because they might be less harmful to the inmates?
(Just wondering)
Do you feel the schools of 120 years ago, where children were just taught reading, writing, and arithmetic were “re-education camps?”
They weren’t just teaching the three R’s.
I would hope that reading the McGuffey Readers would have been part of your teaching education.
