The blue eyes that many of us have are derived from the same mutation. It occurred once and all of us with blue eyes are related back to that incident.

I had a friend, in high school, who had the same thing. She wore a brown contact, in the blue eye, and blue contact in the brown eye.
It didn’t even out the two colors, but, it did make it less noticable.

The eyes in the first picture are the same color as my eyes, but then I’m of White, Northern European descent. So not so unusual.
