South Carolina is the first Power Five program to make a coaching change in 2020.
The school fired Will Muschamp on Sunday night after the Gamecocks lost 59-42 at Ole Miss on Saturday to fall to 2-5 on the season. The loss included Ole Miss QB Matt Corral throwing for a school-record 513 yards and Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin celebrating an Ole Miss TD before Corral had even thrown the ball.

What a horrible hire in the first place. The buyout for Muschamp is $13 MM and who knows how much more for the assistants.
6 games is not enough time for a coach to show his stuff.
Look at Michigan and Penn State. Their fans want to get rid of their coaching staffs and both teams were in big bowl games last year.
As for me, I do not care if every sport goes down the toilet.
He’s a Bulldog SEC terrorist.
Gators check.
Gamecocks check.
LSU?...j/k
He seems to have a bit of an anger problem.
When they hired him, Muschamp was the Gamecocks 5th choice.
When they hired him, Muschamp was the Gamecocks 5th choice. They were the one of the first teams on the coaching carousel when they ended up with him.
Great guy.
Horrible coach.
Maybe he and Ray Tanner can get a package deal on a moving van out of Columbia.
Always looked like he was ready to pop a vein...
I understand Mark Reicht is available- he was Carolina’s first choice back when they took Muschamp.
He had a heart attack last year.
I don’t think SEC head football coach is good for the ticker...
Won’t they have to pull him out of a rocker on his front porch???
In this crazy, delayed, off-and-on season, it is strange that Muschamp gets fired so quickly. There is something else going on. One SEC pundit I listened to last night said South Carolina is dumping him so quickly because they already have a handshake deal with Hugh Friese, currently at Liberty (who beat Va Tech last week) and formerly at Ole Miss, to take over the position.
It’s not the talent on the sidelines, it’s the talent on the field...................
Look at Michigan and Penn State.
Michigan lost again Saturday. I think Harbaugh's time is done. Just how they ease him out is the question. It won't be in-season though.
Where do I sign to get tens of millions of dollars for running two programs into the ground?
Clearly I’m in the wrong line of work.
Same here.
Muschamp just isn’t a head coach. He can coach defense and that is it.
