I’m asking for prayers for my son-in-law. My daughter just informed me tonight that she’s leaving him this weekend while he’s out of town. I knew they were having problems and she “wasn’t happy,” but I was hoping she’d come to her senses and realize she was being stupid. Unfortunately, she hasn’t. They’re both 32, have been married for 7 years with no kids, and they are employed.
The reason I’m asking for prayers is the way she’s chosen to leave the marriage. He’s coming home Sunday to a note explaining that she’s gone. I love him to death but he’s got a negative outlook on life in general. I know how I’d feel if it happened to me and my heart breaks for him. I believe he also has a gun, although we live in Arizona so who doesn’t?
I’ve been here for over 20 years, including as a lurker, but this is only my second post. I’m really feeling anxious about this situation so I’m asking freepers to lift up Adam in prayer and surround his heart with love to help him get through this dark time. Thank you in advance!
He’ll likely go have a beer and handle it tomorrow with any luck.
Better not to give so much information and discussion on a thread. They’re in their 30’s.............they’ll work it out or not....7 year itch sounds like.

I hope so. But heâs taking it really hard. Thank God my SIL was there for him. So heartbreaking. But I have to give this to God at this point.

No he had no clue. They had some problems 6 months ago but he thought they worked past them; apparently not. When he came home and saw the note, my other SIL said he almost collapsed, and he’s 6’5.” He’s devastated and lost, but he never said a bad word against her to anyone tonight. He’s a gem and she’s gonna regret this decision. I hope they can work things out, but they definitely need marriage counseling to learn how to communicate better.
I will keep your entire family in my prayers. All families have issues and yours is no difference.
Disregard the negativity that has come your way via this thread. Some people just dont get it. Unfortunately, I do, as I am living out a slightly similar situation, where my son, DIL and the kids are all living with me and it is a dynamite situation.
Again, may God watch over your entire family, including your SIL.
