I’m SICK of politics, frankly.
The Weekly Garden Thread and the Monthly Fiber Arts Thread and the Monthly Cooking thread are going strong.
Set your ‘refresh’ to ‘Everything.’ Plenty of other topic pages here, other than the Main Kvetching Page. ;)
Also, I’m busy praying a lot, but I’ll try to pick up the pace for ya, if you want posts on Wisconsin Cheese, Politics, Tourism or the destruction of some of my Wisconsin cities by the radical, rabid, fully-supported by Socialist Democrat, BLM animals. ;)
Time to be sponsored by the my pillow guy!
But there are more and more copies of worn out articles being posted, breathlessly.
The activists in FR are quite busy— active personally in the fight. Time for posting is after action. Many to our knowledge are hard at it with the recount and in various battleground areas, organizing and working.
Hey, if the sky is falling, sell sky.
FR’s FB page has exploded with new posts and new members.
As I see it...there’s lots of articles on sites which are about the Election ‘count fraud’ of course, as there are here. Fair saying the public is in a holding pattern. For myself I’m not interested in the fake news spewing Biden junk and Covid which they’re pushing.
We do understand what has happened so now we wait for the ultimate outcome.
The list of sources which CANNOT be posted from for copyright reasons SQUELCHES the # of posts that can be generated here.
This list used to not even exist.
BUT... if you look at all the rules here at FR about what you CANNOT post, then I think you will understand why there are fewer postings now.
To your question - yes, I noticed a few weeks ago the rate of news posted was slowing down.
I’ll step up. I’m scanning a lot of places. Bongino, JustTheNews, AmericanGreatness, etc.
One thing I noticed too is the effect of everyone in-the-know or on the front-lines are posting on Parler or Twitter. So the little snippets have good links or kernels of news but it gets a little ‘chatty’ if we post all of their Parleys or Tweets. (President Trump excluded. Everything he tweets is worth posting.)
John/Jim - that might be a cool idea - a sidebar of just folks we like and follow - their parleys and tweets that are newsworthy. I.e., a quick post like an RSS feed and then a click to convert it to a regular post.
Shrinkage? Like a frightened turtle.
If so, I have a theory that it would be due to;

Vanities have zip to do with readership. After this election, most are simply pissed off, burned out, depressed and or are being cautious due to the fact there is so much fraud and bull s**t being reported. Instead of posting as usual, most are taking a wait and see posture.
Could be some election fatigue....
Im a little shy of posting anything cause people have been rude about it.
Like they get mad if its a double post even if its not in search or etc. I get discouraged.
She will need FR to be at the head of those "deplorable" lists when the burnings start...
Currently scheduled/projected for next April or May...
Maybe it’s time to change the name of FreeRepublic to “don’t believe the Hofts”
I pretty much quit posting because I got tired of being attacked about my posting.

I used to check Free Republic traffic counts every few months.
All the free web traffic counts have disappeared, so I have not checked for many years.
My own impression is that we had a sharp drop off in FR membership after the highly aggressive "Always Trumper" mob showed up in 2016, and more drop off after the "Q" mob showed up in 2017.
Regardless, I voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020, I still visit Free Republic every day, and I still donate to Free Republic every month.
Free Republic became a lot less free when so many Freepers bowed to the WuFlu hysteria and agreed to lockdowns. This forum was rife with end of the world charts, case fatality rates, and exponential spread scenarios.
This is has become the protect me and that monthly check forum.
