The name is John Paterson and the profile kind of looks like taco or something,
?
Hmm...
The biggest complaint I hear about MeWe is that when you first join, it’s a “desert” out there! Once you can find some other folks, people seem to like it.
Some relatives and I are fairly desperate to get off of Fakebook, but we use it to keep in touch with some family members who have small kids & it’s the only way we can watch them grow up (I have NO “friends” that aren’t ‘family’). There are 3 of us that would probably make the ‘jump’ to MeWe, but the younger folks are so well-established on Fakebook, I don’t see them going to the trouble just for us “old folks”.
I’ve been tempted to set up an account just to see how the process goes.
You can update your screen image.
Gotta give it some time. People may hate FB, but they’re dependent on it, so breaking away is hard for some. MeWe’s user population is now up to 9 million, so it’s definitely growing.
Try Parler too @MichaelKosak.
Its too bad JimRob doesn’t want to be a billionaire...we were doing this before Facebook existed...
Seems like once a platform reaches a certain size & popularity, the knives come out in support of socialism and anything that hates America.
9 million - sounds good!!
Other than MeWe, I really haven’t seen another option to Fakebook. There is Rumble for ‘Screwtube’ (as Dan Bongino calls it) & Parler for Twitter.
I have an account at Rumble - my only complaint is that when you subscribe to a channel, like Dan’s or now Bannon’s War Room (he got kicked off Screwtube & went to Rumble) notifications via email are at least a day late. When Screwtube quit doing email notifications, I went to Blogtrottr to get notification via email. Blogtrottr works for Screwtube just fine, but I cannot find a “feed” on Rumble that will work. Rumble has some work to do.
As for Parler, I do not do Twitter. I will go look at certain people/tweets & you can do that without an account. I have not joined Parler (some folks have a lot of trouble joining, from what I’ve seen) & the biggest downside I see is that you cannot see the posts unless you DO have an account. At this point, I see no need to open an account since I won’t use it other than to read what other folks are saying. Mark Levin has been so censored, he is talking about getting off of FB/Twitter & urging people to go to Parler so the push is on .... #Foxit .... #Fakebookit ... #Screwtubeit
I was on MEWE for about a year, but the app really took up a lot of memory so I dumped the app AND OCCASIONALLY reload and see what’s happening.
Done. I’m getting used to it and it is a desert, but it’s not effbook.
Invite sent.
I like MeWe because you can customize it to suit yourself. FYI,once you change settings you have to log out before they take effect.
My wife and all her friends and relatives uses Zalo but don’t bother unless you can read and write in Vietnamese.
Aside from FR, we have to be digital nomads now. I think the problem is when they get so big, they have board members that end up with more say so than the founder(s) and big $$$ seems to want socialism and globalism. One set of rules and one currency with the serfs having no say in things sure would make thing easier for them. Not sure how much profit they'll make if we're all dirt poor though. They seem to be looking forward 1-5 years and not 20-30. History must not be much of a requirement in business degrees.
I cut off FB years ago.
Might look at MeWe.
I just sent a contact request. (Kim R.)
Mewe. Rumble and Parler
We are the news now. Take responsibility for not supporting those who wish us ill. A civiics lesson in real time. Now
My wife mentioned this alternative to me a couple of days ago.
I’ll check this out. ‘Pod
For some reason, I can’t sign up for Parler. Not sure about WeMe. When my daughter lived in China, we had to use WeChat. Only place we could video chat with the grandkids.
