REPORT: Police Shoot, Kill Man After Deadly Car Chase In Stolen Police Cruiser

Maryland police said two people are dead after a man fired at them, stole a police cruiser, and then hit a relative with the vehicle as he fled the scene early Tuesday morning.

Prince George County officers responded to calls of a suicidal man with a gun around 1 a.m. in Lanham, Maryland, in a residential neighborhood, Interim Police Chief Hector Velez said during a press conference, WUSA9 reported. The officers said they were met with immediate gunfire at their arrival, and returned fire.

The man was potentially having a mental health crisis at the time, said Velez.

Riots can commence after this part gets scrubbed from the narrative about the "suspect" and his action after shooting at police officers: "the suspect took control of the cruiser, and drove the car up and down the road, and struck and killed a family member, who had been attempting to de-escalate the situation before police arrived". Ran over and killed his own family member.

This was reported very early this morning.

At first anybody listening would have thought it was a suicidal guy killing a family member and then being shot by the police.

Only later on in the morning was it discovered that somehow, the guy took control of a police cruiser...ran over his relative and then was shot by the police.

How in the hell does any responding police officer leave his cruiser with the engine running?

This is a law suit waiting to unfold.

Or instead of deploying an Airbag have a remote trigger for a round of Tear gas in the steering wheel. That’ll put an end to stolen Cop cars.
