I got the call about a rental car return to the Phoenix airport with a crack pipe, Delaware AG badge, Secret Service business card, Macbook and dead hooker. Of course my dog’s name is Hunter.
Several years ago my wife started getting calls from Jamaica saying she had won a lottery there and that she needed to send them a small amount of money to claim the big prize. Of course we realized it was a scam and hung up. But bless them, they were persistent and kept calling, demanding to know why we weren’t claiming the millions of dollars she had “won”.
The calls kept coming. Finally I told them I had called the FBI and given them the number they were calling from. The caller was nonplussed at this: said there was an FBI agent right beside him and put him on the phone to tell me that this was completely on the level!
Eventually they gave up. At one point I asked if it was nice and warm in Jamaica? “Yes”, he answered.
“Well you call me when you see the devil going by on ice skates, because that’ll be the day we send you money”.
Scooby alert says - SCAM
SS NEVER calls on the phone. NEVER.
Every old fool who gets one of these calls posts it to FR as a warning to the other pearl clutchers.
You must realize that every caller ID is simply a series of “text numbers” inserted into the data stream of that outbound call. I used to update them everyday for 911compliance in the hospital. If you moved your office, I would need to make sure all of the data associated with your outbound number followed you. It’s all digitized now—-but it used to be a simple pain in the ass for the corporate climbers who ways wanted the newly opened office.
Knock it off!!
So my mule Tony got whacked and you’re holding my 11 kilos. I bet it was those garcia boys again. I’ll be down there tomorrow.

It’s legit. Give them your bank accounts, credit cards, buy iTunes gift cards, whatever it takes to get straight with the SS office.
