Quite frankly, I would rather eat than watch bison roam.

Wonder what the cost was....and why does it matter where they are living.

These nuts pick a time period and say this is where we should be. No consideration for food, people or other factors surrounding that time period. There's no rhyme or reason to relocate these beasts.

There used to be a farm in Indiana that raised bison...it was called the Needmore Buffalo Ranch or something like that.

The odd thing here is that the Kankakee Valley was completely changed from wetlands to prairie around the turn of the 20th century by dredging and draining tens of thousands of acres in 9 counties. No bison ever lived in Kankakee swamps. So the article is a total distortion of reality.

This preserve is near where I live. It is also near a very long time game preserve/fishing area known as Willow Slough. Also being along the Kankakee River in this area it is in the river’s spring time flood plain.

Cool. Enviros should remember to thank the yield boost from GMO corn and soybeans for making the diversion of good farm ground possible/affordable.

There were over 300 million American bison in the 1800’s. I am glad to see them return to growing in numbers, they are magnificent animals.

The Nature Conservancy despite of their propaganda is a scam - they kick people off their property over environmental issues using the Federal government to force the taking for below market prices. Then, TNC “administers” the property for the Gov, selling some back to recoup costs, and sell other bits to their members, who continue to use the property in the same fashion as the original (now bankrupt owners). American Rivers and others run the same or a variation of this scam.

The problem with Bison is they never stay where you put ‘em.

IF those bison were NOT tested for Brucellosis, you can kiss the cattle industry in Indiana goodbye... Bison are known carriers. NO cure for it.
