"Louisiana will not secede..." That is the second time I've seen Louisiana excluded from a list of potential seceding states.
And yet, when the time came, Louisiana had no greater numbers of Unionists than other Deep South states, and their opposition caused no noticeable delay in passing the ordnance of secession.
Curious why some Northerners thought Louisiana somehow different?
