There are still places in the US without zoning.
Most politicians only want to preen on the major media issues of the day.
Rand Paul is every day doing the real grunt work of battling leftists and their constant attempts at creeping government
Doesn’t matter, the local govt will adopt it because it is easier than doing their own.......................
Federalism versus authoritarianism. Kind of a forgotten principle among Republicans.
Rand is probably the only man in America who’s focused on this topic on Election Eve. I am thankful for his ability to so focus. Not every cause is a wild or sexy one.
Paul’s a kook! Paul’s off his meds!!
US Constitution

See, it's it there. I got I from my handy dandy AOC Pocket Constitution.
Dumbest idea in the world!
Alaska and Florida have vastly different building concerns!!!!
Trying to find out why this is coming up in the GOP senate and who’s pushing it...
Currently, one can avoid Section 8 housing by not having it comply with codes. The Left doesn't like that.
Say what?
Why not federalize everything and the Constitution be damned?
A liberal friend told me years ago that he thought all laws and regulations should be federalized - no state laws. And he meant it.
If they Federalize building codes, they can make it virtually impossible to build your own house. Today, if you dont like nanny state / crony regulations, you can go one county over.
Hey! You made that up! (I had to go look it up.)

Tell your liberal friend that is not very diverse of him.
“””If they Federalize building codes, they can make it virtually impossible to build your own house.”””
Make sure you do an environmental study before you get the permit.
Hold public hearings to make sure nobody near your new house is offended by your white privilege.
Make sure you spend a few million extra to make it energy compliant
Etc, etc, etc.
We are very close already.
The federal register has hundreds of thousands of pages.
It applies to the whole USA for most things.
The Supreme Court needs to rule against Wickard v. Filburn.
Local gov adoption of national codes is evident in the National Election Code. Most municipalities just plagiarize from there.
He went to meet his maker a few years ago.
A real prince except for being a communist. I could never figure it out. Ditto for his wife, who was VP of a hospital and made better that $250K - twenty years ago!
For his birthday one time I gave him a copy of Rush’s book “The Way Things Ought to Be” with a gift certificate inside as a gag. She almost threw me out of the house. She relented only after I said the gift certificate was his, but I was keeping the book.
