Ok, y’all are smart people. What is the easiest way for one person to move a large oak desk/cabinet - roughly 54/48/24 inches, kind of heavy. Dragging it across the carpet has been done before, but I’m looking for something new, a better way.
Moving a oak desk....
Get those plastic disks to put under the four corners. Wife move moves furniture around that way. For longer moves not on carpet, get a four square tip the desk on end and wheel it where you want it. A four square is a square or rectangle with casters on each corner.
furniture sliders, big or little depending how heavy.
Teflon sliding discs.
#1533 go to the hardware store. Get 3 or 4 one inch or bigger dowls. Roll the desk like an Egyptian.
A lift to get the sliders in, easy peasy.
they sell sliders ... makes the average person look like hercules...

for draggin\pushing over the carpet, you should use hard surfaced sliders.
for draggin\pushing over a hard surface, use the soft felt surfaced sliders.

get ‘em anywhere -home depot\lowes etc...
good luck
Get several of those office chair carpet guard things. Lay them end to end out in front of where you want to go, drag the item forward on them, move the now exposed last guard to the front and continue toward your destination.
Home Depot and other places have these circular thingys that make moving anything easy. They are white plastic on the bottom and gray foam on the top. You just put them under the item to move and it glides across the floor. Easy Peasey.
There are little plastic coaster things you can get to place under the legs and they allow heavy furniture to glide across wood, tile and even carpet. Pretty inexpensive as I recall
Go to U-Haul and rent two furniture dollies, for $10 a piece. Use one on each end of the item.
drag using plastic tarp
