I’m an Enrolled Agent Tax Preparer and I get those calls. I’m told (answering machine) that their police are coming for me unless I pay. There needs to be a level added to Dante’s Hell for these scum!
Just a reminder that modern tech is a two-edged blade. When I was in college in the 70s, Long Distance calls were expensive but very few scammers! Isn’t the future wonderful?
I get them a couple of times a week. I know hat it is pretty much within a couple of seconds and just put the phone(land line) face down on the table and let the scammer talk to the table top Sometimes it can be several minutes before the buzz buzz tells me the other end has hung up.
Doesn’t your phone have caller ID? If you don’t recognize
the number, don’t answer.
