These 12 Graphs From Around the World Show Mask Mandates Do Nothing To Stop COVID: No matter how strictly mask laws are enforced nor the level of mask compliance, cases all fall and rise around the same time.

Not according to the graphs. That being said, I wear a mask whenever I go anywhere right now because I have to for work and if I wanna go shopping somewhere they’re requiring it. Furthermore, I would have no problem with the mask mandate if we could just let the economy get back to normal. There is absolutely no justification for this kind of crippling of the economy which is not gonna save any lives whatsoever.

In less than a week the whole COVID circus will cease to be a political issue. In a month or two we’ll have to go out of our way to find news about it as it will no longer be a “get Trump” issue.

people used scarves for thousands of years because of the dirt roads and horses. It didn’t stop the Bubonic plague or small pox

This very scenario is when the public health officials and government bureaucrats and I part ways on the effectiveness of wearing a mask to stop an inert, submicroscopic virus.

I leave my unsanitized home, not wearing a mask, and drive to a local restaurant, not wearing a mask in an unsanitized car. I walk through an unsanitized parking lot, to the front door of the restaurant, which may or may not be sanitized, without wearing a mask, and put a mask on to walk through the front door because there is a sign taped to it that says to wear a mask to enter.

As soon as I am inside the door, I am permitted to removed the mask to sit down and order a meal from a menu, which may or may not be sanitized, and to visit with my dinner guest who is not wearing a mask and to eat the meal, without wearing a mask among other diners who are not wearing masks.

There is no requirement to wash my hands in the bathroom or wipe them with hand sanitizer before touching the menu or the utensils on the table. Some people may do this but I don't.

When I am done eating, I pay for the meal with my unsanitized debit card and sign the ticket with a pen, which may or may not be sanitized, or I pay with various unsanitized bills and coins, which are not sanitized and exchange this currency for change which is not sanitized either, before exiting the restaurant without wearing a mask.

Now maybe someone much smarter than I can explain to me how this whole process is going to make it safer for me and others to not contract or come in contact with this elusive, submicroscopic virus?

I see this as an exercise in futility and a moot point when it comes to being an effective way to stop the virus.

As you might have guessed by now, I think the whole process is bullshit and not worth the time and effort to do anything but disrupt our lives and control our behavior.

Anyone want to take a stab at it and convince me otherwise?

Just to be clear, the headline is inaccurate and the data are not “from around the world.” They are from the US and Western Europe. Notably absent are the East Asian countries where mask wearing has been common for years.

Would truly analyzing data ”from around the world“ alter the strong conclusion of the article? I do not know; the scientific way of thinking requires deciding in advance how to test a hypothesis, conducting an experiment and then seeing whether the results falsify the hypothesis. I do know that by COVID deaths per million people, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan all rank considerably below most Western European countries, the US and Canada.

Masks don’t work? Fine. Close the filthy, fecal restaurants and bars then. Government funded people should learn to cook for themselves instead of having drug addicts do it for them.

"Germany mandated masks about halfway down its original recovery."

That was then.

"Their cases are now similarly climbing quickly."

This is now. Fallacy exposed.

Death rate curves look remarkably the same between Japan and US. Author uses more than one example, and you are suing only one example. That is why I do not use Sweden as an example all the time, because just one example is an anecdote.

Japan death rate curves seem to correlate and be at the same time as US. Not sure what victory is being declared here. Sweden does nothing and still lives on. But, like Japan, they are an anecdote, not a comprehensive look.

VIDEO: 7m: 29 Oct: Sky News Australia: Andrews’ mask mandate is another ‘dreamt up draconian measure’
Anaesthetist Dr Babak Amin says the Andrews governments’ mask mandate is another “dreamt up” draconian measure because it does not refer exclusively to surgical masks but rather masks with no universal standard of manufacture.
“We’re talking about cloth masks, non-medical masks with no universal standards for their manufacture,” Dr Amin told Sky News host Alan Jones.
“We’re talking about masks that – when you look through the medical literature – play no role in stopping the spread of respiratory illnesses.
“There is a significant body of evidence from years gone by, looking at the role of these cloth masks in community settings with previous pandemics.

“There is a raft of high-quality data, what we call meta-analyses, studies that compile multiple other studies together, and these studies have found that non-medical masks in community settings play no role in protecting the wearer from infection.”

Mr Jones pointed to a study from Dr James Meehan of Global Research which argues bacterial pneumonias are currently on the rise because “untrained members of the public are wearing medical masks repeatedly … in a non-sterile fashion”.
“We are dealing with the administration who dreamt up… three draconian unforgivable measures with no basis in scientific evidence whatsoever,” Dr Amin said.
“And now they’re trying to do it again with this mask mandate.”
