The Los Angeles Dodgers finally tasted victory in October on Tuesday, winning the 2020 World Series. The ratings of the contest itself werent nearly as victorious.
Game 6 of this years World Series, a 3-1 Dodgers win to clinch the series, drew in 12.6 million viewers, according to the Associated Press. That made it the most-watched game of the series, but also cemented an ignominious record for the 2020 Fall Classic.
The series ended up averaging 9.785 million viewers per game, shattering the record for lowest average viewership in a World Series, according to The Athletics Richard Deitsch. The previous low had been 12.7 million viewers in the 2012 World Series, a San Francisco Giants sweep of the Detroit Tigers.

Good! Keep up the good work folks and your tv tuned OFF pro sports except golf and bowling.
Cali is going red.
They’ve got to do an awful lot of apologizing to get me back. Can’t see that happening.
Tucker will be at that number shortly, which is a very healthy sign.
Curling is very interesting also!
Who? What??? World Series???
I stopped watching baseball years ago. I used to be an avid fan. I got tired of cry-baby millionaires whining about being exploited. There’s nothing more disgusting than a ballplayer being paid over $100K a week charging a little kid for an autograph at a baseball card show.
I suspect they knew that going into this. They weren't capturing younger audiences due to television competing with the Internet and smart phone apps and figured they'd cash in on controversy since the decline was inevitable anyway. Nothing like fomenting social unrest for money.
I wonder if they still had “BLM” on the pitcher’s mound. I wouldn’t know because I didn’t watch a single minute of the World Series. As a major league baseball fan since 1969, that’s saying something.
MLB lost me years ago over the strike. Some mighty big changes need to occur to get me back.
I wonder. Do you think BLM likes bowling? The big black ball knocks down whitey.
Baseball is not fair.
Not even close.
The starting pitcher in the first game of the World Series for the Dodgers(Kershaw) made more money than the entire Tampa Bay Rays team combined.
It is amazing that Tampa made it as far as they did. As a Red Sox fan, I was rooting for the Rays.
I didnt watch, but I listened to a lot of the Series on the radio.
You are opposed to players getting paid market value?
Game four was something else. The play at the plate.
I know where you are coming from.
Indeed. Black ball hitting whitey is a plus for blm. Thats probably why theyve left it alone and arent shakin em down for $.
The only reason I knew it was on was because it preempted Jeopardy. I still watch rugby and curling.
