OK. So I'd like to be able to send money to help some of the tighter races.
Unfortunately, I WILL NOT leave any of my phone numbers!
I have done that already for a few donations I've made, and I haven't been able to stem the constant text messages and phone calls from those politicians with whom I've shared this information, including our President.
I've had to turn off notifications on my cell phone to stop the constant pinging from politicians. Consequently, I'm missing pings from work, family, and friends.
If you're a politician reading this, you should instruct your donation page designers to make the phone number entry fields VOLUNTARY.
Until then, I cannot donate anything.
I only donate on line and still get tons of texts - pain in the ass but the reality is that fund raising is a huge part of a successful campaign so I tolerate it.
As the President says, the cure should not be worse than the problem and if everyone opted to not donate, we’d be stuck in Biden-Land - where once the ride starts, nobody ever gets off.
I mailed in donations a couple of times 20-25 years ago and my mailbox was deluged with requests for more. I now receive innumerable emails and texts from candidates to whom I never donated. What’s up with that?
